Vincent writes about something that still might feel familiar: wanting to be sure of where things are going.
That kind of certainty is hard to come by. For him, as for many, it didn’t arrive all at once. Perhaps that’s why the line stays with us, not as a resolution, but as a recognition.
What helps you keep going when you’re not sure yet?
Monet painted The Magpie when he was 28. No one knew him.
He had just become a father and was living in extreme poverty.
He presented it at the Paris Salon and they laughed at him. They told him it was unfinished.
En que momento el mundo se volvió tan aburrido?
Sabías que hubo un tiempo en que las cosas se hacían con tanto esmero que a donde dirigieras tu mirada podrías ver arte?
Que nos pasó? 🤔😔😱

Embroidery with significance🧵When in Arles (FR), Vincent painted a portrait of ‘The Zouave’, a soldier in a special French regiment. The embroidery on his jacket wasn't just decorative; it revealed his role as a musician within the regiment, likely playing the horn 🎺 or drum 🥁
