Byzantine deals

Byzantium cut deals with its adversaries and, in the eyes of many, abandoned its allies. The Maronites of Mount Lebanon suffered greatly after Byzantine power cut a deal with the Umeyad Caliphate. The Basileus later abandoned Armenia to the advancing Ottomans. Centuries later, the Armenian people endured genocide under the Ottoman Empire while outside powers largely stood by.

In the end, the Umayyads pushed Byzantine rule out of Syria, and the Ottomans eventually captured Constantinople itself.

Today, there is an Armenia. There is a Lebanon. But there is no Byzantine Empire.

The lesson: alliances matter. Abandoning friends for short-term arrangements can carry long-term consequences. No deal is worth more than the trust of your allies.

I am delighted to meet these young Jewish and Christian American youth at Sea of Galilee. I exposed reality for us as native Christians, our freedom we enjoy under Jewish Democratic state of Israel. Explained how our state punish as well a tiny number of extermists while in Arab countries they are set free without punishment. Now these youth from different USA campuses are equipped with better knowledge to confront lies and propaganda of Jewish and Israeli hatred. I accepted their invitation to participate in future events and support when is needed.

Would USA allow Mexican cartel that are out of their government control to act against USA citizens? No.
Why then Israel should tolerate Hezba-lah that is threatening Lebanese government, people and Israeli citizens alike? President Trump must understand, no deals are justified with Jihadists..

@MaxNordau There are no Arabs Christians, Christians in the levant including Israel were arabized and forced to talk arabic during 14 centuries. Real Arab Christians lived in deserts and on the civilization borders of the levant they converted to Islam until the 10th century A.D.
