@deliciaedolorum@PlsHoldMyHalo@harrysmywife_ If you go to the doctor for basically any chronic issue, usually you leave with an anxiety diagnosis, antidepressants, birth control, or otc pain meds at a markup. I’ve been trying for years to find answers and help. Eventually I just gave up and took the ibuprofen.
@Ukrainische@_DockEllis@PlsHoldMyHalo@harrysmywife_ They’re on a Russian or Spanish or Chinese post instead of an English one, talking about how they can’t even find ibuprofen or pain meds where they live
@Ukrainische@PlsHoldMyHalo@harrysmywife_ Maybe it’s because you’re in a comment section of a post about pain management, maybe it’s because our food is poison, maybe it’s because we can’t afford healthcare, maybe its because in a car centric country nobody walks anywhere and our joints deteriorate. Maybe it’s maybelline
@harrysmywife_ Also the only place you can get 1k bottles is Costco and they’re meant for large families. No one person needs 1k pills but no one person needs 48 eggs or 4 gallons of milk at one time. But if you have a family of 8 and you work full time, hell yeah you need the 1k pack
@LCampbell1985@RudeOnion@harrysmywife_ It applies to Americans because we’re expected to suck it up and go to work anyways when we’re sick, injured, or in my case, disabled, and pain management options are doctors last resort bc of insurance policies. So you go in with chronic pain and leave with Zoloft.
@quetzalcoa14@RudeOnion@harrysmywife_ The American healthcare system will see you in immense pain and send you home with a birth control prescription and an anxiety diagnosis. It’s not like we have a safe alternative, esp in states where marijuana is illegal.
@thintechgodhead@harrysmywife_ Being chronically ill is fucked tbh. I’m constantly in low grade pain which is exhausting. In situations where someone else might have a sore back or sore feet at the end of the day I’m debilitated and can’t walk up the stairs and unfortunately a girls gotta work, thus ibuprofen.
@janedesires Pay all my bills, upright MRI, vestibular therapy, a nice house with the loml, having the financial stability to have a child, then start buying houses for homeless people
@cavesofsteel Hyperfixation & special interest aren’t interchangeable. Hyperfixation can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks but it’s about intensity. I’ve had hyperfixations where I restructure my whole life around a thing and can’t sleep for days on end because I’m thinking about it
@hanisabobapearl@jeckalifornia I haven’t slept in 4 days because I’ve been hyper fixated on something, I think if it’s debilitating it’s adhd hyperfixation and if it’s interest in something for a few days but it doesn’t change your whole life and mindset and derail your whole trajectory then it’s an interest
@hanisabobapearl I think prolonged here means days or weeks so interested in something you can’t think about anything else, whereas a lot of people here are really talking about hyper focus, where you are focused for hours without eating or bathroom breaks but once you lose focus it’s done.
@hanisabobapearl I haven’t slept in 4 days because I’m too busy thinking about and listening exclusively to System of a Down I think you’re thinking of special interests
