@NHLMedia@AnaheimDucks They lost mctavish, half their defense and whoever they will have to trade to make cap room. They replaced them with AJ Greer and Nick Jensen… they’re going to soar about as high as I can jump.
@anacalling_fhf It’s not that. The ducks are a worse team than they were last season, even with Carlsson. Now they can be a worse team with Carlsson but have no cap space and only bad contracts to move, or they can still be worse but have cap space and assets to retool their roster.
@NHLRumourReport If the ducks don’t match, Verbeek is an idiot with cap space and room to improve the team. If Verbeek does match he’s still an idiot with no cap space and goes into the season with a worse team than last year.
@xXDarkByDesignX I think Briere tried everything else to improve the team, trades and UFA’s, with no luck. He probably even called Verbeek about Carlsson and mactavish but verbeek said no. I honestly think the offer sheet was briere’s last option
@PHLY_Flyers If they get Leo, they’re gonna have to trade someone away for cap space. Do you think Briere could facilitate a 3 team trade with a team like Vancouver to get the ducks Pettersson (# 1 center) so ANA won’t match, while opening cap for Zegras and a roster spot for G?
@RonoAnalyst I don’t think they move DVO off center and for that reason they trade cates and risto for pennies on the dollar instead of Tippet. Centers would be Carlsson, Z, DVO, and coots. Toch would put Michkov on a line with players more defensively responsible too.
@podgoalzin17 If Philly signs Leo and G they’re closer to a cup than EDM. Three biggest needs were backup goalie, 1C and powerplay. If G and Carlsson sign, all three biggest weaknesses have been addressed on top of young players taking steps forward this season. How has EDM gotten better?
@JasonGregor They have Torontos first (which will probably be higher than the flyers first) and can trade Risto and/or Tippet for another first. Chance of getting a Carlsson type player is low in the draft anyways. Cap is projected to go up 20 mil the next 2 years. Amazing signing
@Haleytsimon He’s 24 and now signed through his prime. If you sign him for 5 years and you have to pay him at 29 years after maybe putting up mulitple 30-40 goal seasons, the cap hit would double
@Brodes81 A cheap veteran who can play center, win 60% of faceoffs, run a power play, and would’ve been 5th on the team in points this year. What don’t you understand? They’re not talking about signing him for 5 years for 5 mil
@ajtorres1230 Guy missed 6 total games the last 2 seasons and was on pace for 40 goals before he got hurt this year on just 17 minutes of ice time. If he turns into a 40 goal scorer then he could be looking a lot like the Jason Robertson situation in Dallas rn and be worth 14 mil
@Brodes81 It baffles me that this guy has a job in sports 🤦🏼♂️ I would kill for a job talking about sports and yet somehow this guy who complains about everything has one
@PuckReportNHL@FriedgeHNIC I want the flyers to trade for Werenski, but players rejecting trades after asking for said trades is getting ridiculous. GM’s will start saying you’re going to wherever we trade you or you can stay here til your contract is up, Werenski is not going to sit out for 2 years
@pecopowerpIay Why would they not want a guy for relatively cheap who can play center, win faceoffs, run a power play and would have been 5th on the team in points last year??
