@Kweepa I would not have able to resist naming it “Qua8ke”. 😆 Crazy what’s possible now…

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@eevblog ...and for the foreseeable future they just secured a steady stream of the best and brightest engineering talent wanting to go work for Tesla/SpaceX.

@resistancemoney Swap out History for Accounting…

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@davepl1968 For those of a certain age though… 😅

@jeffqchen I thought the AirPod Pro 3 hearing test was full of crap so I mic’d one up to my audio spectrum analyzer. Alas, it was not the headphones that were broken. 😅🤷‍♂️Both ears, hard cutoff right about ~14KHz as well. We’re old.

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@Pirat_Nation Wait… “at least 2500kWh” per *year*? [checks power bill] 😅

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

I have to stick up for Synology… I have three DS18xx units going back ~14 years. All still work and I’ve spent a grand total of zero minutes having to mess with *anything*. They’re quiet and just plug along— and they fit on a shallow shelf vs. needing a full depth rack like my old HP and Supermicro servers. 🤷‍♂️

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@davepl1968 @jeffqchen @Synology More recent home models (like the DS1825+) support up to 200TB volumes— if I recall correctly. You need to step up to the enterprise gear for up to 1PB volumes.

@davepl1968 Maybe not AGI, but coming from the “hand assembling 6502 opcodes on paper” generation— even just the current state of AI is sorcery. 😅

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@realjosefbosch $10M would build about 1/5th of an elementary school in the US— if the land, permitting, and engineering was all free. 🤷‍♂️

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@SawyerMerritt Giant, curved, almost vertical windshield… Pretty sure these were designed by the Replacement Auto Glass lobby.

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@MaxLobovsky CosmicToadlet sends its condolences! Were those Fuse1 or 1+?

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@SawyerMerritt Maury: “You *are* the father!”

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@jeffqchen Me, looking at HDD prices : "Don't worry she'll hold together... Hear me, baby? Hold together."

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@eevblog We already had ‘Münchausen syndrome by proxy’— guess we can add ‘Moral Outrage by proxy’? 🤔

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@MKBHD

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@davepl1968 Hinds’ 7th law!

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@badcomputer0 Looks more like a Genesis/Megadrive title than SMS-- most impressive!

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@jeffqchen I’ve always wondered what the actual tuning procedure was like on those. Seems like a lot of balloons to squeeze at once…

[Clay Cowgill @Arcade]

@krus_chiki Just in case the shooter was Viet Cong…
