2/3 After almost 19 years since #Khatri spoke about #Mahadevian, #JArmand based on his findings from #Durkadi excavation supported the idea of indigenous #Acheulian in India! Read his article here👇👇https://t.co/lfbv2ilmGe
3/3 Both Khatri & Armand has been greatly criticized ever since the idea of #'Mahadevian came out by HDSankalia, SGSupekar, VNMisra and SMishra!
At present, there is no clear evidence of anything earlier than the Acheulian in India, but who knows? 🙃

#IndianPrehistory
Indian Prehistory was not just restricted to surveys and discoveries of sites, understanding the assemblages in the Indian context and in the global space was given utmost priority. H.D. Sankalia was a pioneer in concretising it. #StoneAgeTools published 1964.
#Indianprehistory. More on Foote: Did you know that one of the first studies (perhaps in the world) examining site formation issues at Palaeolithic sites was in a debate by Foote & King (1866)? Read more on his work here https://t.co/5mbygdOGGD
#IndianPrehistory
Extensive surveys in the Wainganga River Basin in Central India by #ASINagpurCircle since the 1960s resulted in the discovery of numerous Palaeolithic sites
RVJoshi proposed that Wainganga-B, or Middle Palaeolithic, evolved from Wainganga-A, or Late Acheulian, based on his studies on context and lithic assemblage and that was in 1964!!! 🤓
