@NataliaAntonova I don't have punctuality issues. I'm never late. I understand that others do so I create contexts where punctuality isn't a condition for a successful engagement.
The ableism is in moralizing someone's inability to meet your arbitrary requirements for participation in society. You don't know what strategies they've applied and yet you feel compelled to judge the group as a whole.
@CatJamarchist@tweets4twits Why does having serious struggles prevent you from having empathy? You argue in bad faith that someone will show up egregiously late and without communication like its a given for people with adhd. Why do you assume friends wouldn't work something out that helps each other?
@CatJamarchist@tweets4twits Why do you think people with disabilities experience higher rates of loneliness? Accepting ease? Or protecting themselves from being castigated for just living. Theres other people out there that dont think like you and we build great relationships that make us happy.
@CatJamarchist@tweets4twits Ok and that also means avoiding situations where someone is going to punish you when you can't manage your disability properly, external impact is as real as internal and thats why you work on what you can and live a life that makes you and your close ones happy.
@CatJamarchist@tweets4twits Who said it was? You're the one saying it, I'm saying its not something that should be completely disregarded its very important but it doesnt mean people can't do what they want in response, they do with any other disabled person. If you cant consider it then leave people alone
@CatJamarchist@tweets4twits Pretending like every autistic person and adhd person behaves the same and has the same experiences and struggles is plain ignorant. You dont know anything yet you insist on making judgements with 0 empathy outside of your immediate needs.
@CatJamarchist@tweets4twits Set all the conditions for your friends to meet and respond accordingly but as an adult you should know that people have different needs and wants and you associate better with people that suit your preferences if theyre important. Why make up a stupid scenario to attack people.
@CatJamarchist@tweets4twits You think people are trying to dodge consequences for behaviour you think is easy to control because you don't understand the impact, when reality disability or not the impact has been felt from childhood and thats why people mask and fall apart from the stress. Get over yourself
Person: “Why can’t you just let it go?”
Autistic person: “Because the problem isn’t that I’m thinking about it. The problem is that it still doesn’t make sense.”
The captain of Iran’s National Team, Mehdi Taremi, calls out FIFA and the U.S.:
“This is a disaster World Cup. We can’t stay in the country and have to travel every time we play without any recovery. Now we can’t stay in Seattle and have to return to Tijuana. This is not fair.”
I’ve come to the conclusion that there is NO version of yourself you can present to the world that will protect you from criticism, so just DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO.
you know whats weird about this punctuality discourse? why did we start acting like being late is some fundamentally neurodivergent trait. how did this turn into neurotypicals vs the neurodivergent
@GhostOfSocrates They will weep about 30 minutes when someone jumps in front of a train and then go home and scroll and attack people on twitter for hours, its just being inward facing and thats fine but you gotta realise not everyone has your exact value system so dont force it on others.
It blows my mind every day how this society operates under the lie that there isn't enough. We throw away tons of food, we have more empty houses than homeless people, and our landfills are full of clothing and furniture.
