@FogartyJack He had his chance in November too and was very poor. His defence and aerial play are way too inconsistent for international standards.
And especially given England's aerial play Stockdale is the last winger I'd want in the Ireland squad taking multiple high balls.
@StephenWall1985 System, multi-phase rugby is gone. Every team can defend it now.
Set piece dominance, aerial play and counter-attack/unstructured play is the future.
A trend I fear will suit the teams with the strongest and fastest natural athletes. I struggle to see Ireland's future in this.
@veloroberto8 @lionsofficial They are both better lineout operators than Morgan. And both have previous Lions experience. They are the safer calls which I expected for the first test. I still think Morgan has a good chance of making the 2nd/3rd test if Bierne and Curry don't lift their game this weekend.
@RugbyInsideLine Nope it's not working. Since it was introduced, the round of 16 has always had more than half the matches be blow outs. There just aren't enough quality teams to sustain a competitive round of 16.

@rugby_ap Yea like it or not but it does put an asterisk beside results. For every game they occur in, red cards are the main talking point in every Monday morning article, podcast, YouTube vid etc.
@Rawdogg15@Oldsuliansrfc 1. Both teams can kick/score points. Textbook definition of level playing field
2. Weather cannot be controlled therefore it is'nt worth debating
3. No, but whole teams are often punished because of the marginal/accidental actions of one player. The punishment outweighs the crime
@loosest_the@Rawdogg15@Oldsuliansrfc Injuries (which again, can't be controlled) typically don't lead to uneven playing fields because substitutes can be brought on to keep it 15v15. Unlike red cards.
@Rawdogg15@Oldsuliansrfc And the 20 min red isn't 'demonising red cards'. It just means we can better target the actual offender without taking away the 15v15 match that everyone has paid/wants to see.
@Rawdogg15@Oldsuliansrfc 1. Intercepts/missed kicks don't create an uneven playing field
2. Injuries/weather can't be controlled so not even worth debating
3. Red cards do create an uneven playing field. Every time. Which throws results into question.
