One of the most talked-about scenes in Lihis (2013) was the rough love scene between Joem Bascon and Jake Cuenca. Bold and controversial for its time, it remains one of the film's most memorable moments.
A condominium in Mandaluyong has alerted residents after its property management office said it received official notice of a confirmed case of mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, a viral disease that can cause fever, swollen lymph nodes and a distinctive skin rash.
According to a June 25 circular, the property's management office said it was officially notified by the city's Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of the confirmed case, which is associated with one of the building's towers.
The advisory urged residents to remain calm while following preventive measures, including frequent handwashing, avoiding close skin-to-skin contact with anyone who has unexplained rashes or lesions, refraining from sharing personal items such as towels and bedding, and seeking medical attention if symptoms develop.
Mpox spreads primarily through close physical contact with an infected person, contaminated materials, or certain infected animals. Unlike COVID-19, it is not considered an airborne disease under normal circumstances.
radar has not independently verified the circular or the identity of the condominium and has reached out to the property's management and the Mandaluyong City Health Office for confirmation.
The advisory comes as the Philippines continues to monitor mpox cases. The Department of Health last publicly confirmed new cases in the country in 2024, while global health authorities continue to track infections in several countries.
