THIS is how you approach Drug abuse.
If you look at countries that successfully tackled the issue (Portugal, Switzerland, Denmark) their approach is more on rehabilitation and harm reduction while countries that had a punitive “war on drugs” approach (Colombia, the United States under Nixon) failed spectacularly

We agree with the Vice President that the impeachment proceedings should be conducted expeditiously. The public deserves a timely resolution of the case, and the Vice President is likewise entitled to the speedy disposition of the proceedings.
The Prosecution has consistently exerted efforts to help expedite the trial without compromising the proper and effective presentation of its evidence. It will be recalled that we even waived the presentation of more than half of our intended witnesses for the Article on Grave Threats.
If the Vice President shares this objective, perhaps it would also be helpful for her to convey the same to her Defense team. There have been instances when actions of the Defense have contributed to delays in the proceedings. Most recently, despite the Presiding Officer’s directive, the Defense declined to meet with the Prosecution for the comparison of common exhibits before the scheduled continuation of Ms. Xylene Del Campo’s testimony.
We discussed this during yesterday’s interview on Isyu Spotted.

@attyjaytolosa Agree. You can’t demand an expeditious trial while contributing to delays. 🙂↕️
Thank you for your service, Atty. Jay and the entire prosecution team!

seeing mayor leni deliver her speech really made me think of what could’ve been if filipinos won last election. i will forever mourn the possibilities of having good government. 🥺
we were once so close to a better government :’(
Lorna Kapunan from speaking the truth!
Bringing this to the attention of my international audience:
Most Filipinos are not protected by the flood control projects conducted by our gov't. So especially during rainy season, we have to come up with our solutions just to survive.
I need more people to be angry at this.
Just my sentiments after hearing Usec Claire Castro’s interview - ‘cause to be honest, it hurts.
No teacher instructs students to curse, fight, or disrespect others. NO ONE and NEVER. So why are educators are always blamed when a child misbehaves? What kind of system and mindset is this?
You’re all focused on the students without realizing the teachers need help too. The teachers need rest, the teachers need to breathe and live like a normal being. Have you ever ask the teachers what the students did to them? Na kahit bastusin at magpakita ng hindi maayos na behavior ang mga bata, teachers can never fully discipline them. You already know there are laws protecting students, which somehow limit teachers from disciplining them. So bakit parang kasalanan ng teacher ang lahat?
Additionally, teachers educate, parents discipline. Values and good moral should begin at home. Huwag niyo naman iasa lahat sa teachers. To be clear, teaching does not drains us— its managing bad behavior and the system itself. All the teachers are doing their best just to guide and accomodate all the students. Most teachers do not have time for their recess and lunch because they have lots of paperworks — pupunta pa ang bata sa faculty to ask for something or kadalasan may sumbong. This is what teachers in the Philippines deserve? It hurts that government officials think teachers failed to do their job. It hurts that no matter what teacher gives, no matter what teacher does, backlash, blame and hate will always be pointed to them
You’ll never understand until you become one of them🙂
Not to offend anyone here, but CAN YOU GUYS STOP GLAZING CLAIRE CASTRO? GURLLL, GISING. I enjoyed some of her statements against the Dutertes, pero let us not forget na hindi lang Duterte ang mga kalaban. Hindi porke’t she says things we agree with against one political camp++
Apart from the issues surrounding the use and liquidation of confidential funds, there are also questions regarding how the Vice President and her subordinates responded when concerns were raised about their liquidation.
In particular, as testified to by COA’s Atty. Roderick Wamil, her representatives, including her Chief of Staff, Atty. Zuleika Lopez, requested COA-ICFAO to issue a mere Credit Notice instead of an Audit Observation Memorandum in case issues were found with their liquidation.
Thereafter, when the House of Representatives subpoenaed COA to produce the liquidation reports submitted in connection with the confidential funds, Atty. Lopez asked COA not to comply with the subpoena. Atty. Lopez, together with other concerned officials and employees of the OVP and DepEd, also refused to appear before the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability which sought clarification on the use of said funds. This eventually led the Committee to resort to compulsory processes to compel their attendance. These matters were reflected in the official documents which the Presiding Officer agreed to take judicial notice of yesterday, as well as those that the defense agreed to stipulate on.
From today’s press conference.
