i know 14% annualized return & 1.6 Sharpe ratio is "no big deal" for HFT genius, but for a really-low-frequency macro model that delivers by smart-timing and smart-diversification, i would say my model is "good to run".
So now the Trump administration is literally holding its economic negotiations with China at… JP Morgan headquarters??
Not either country’s mission to the UN in New York. Not a hotel or other neutral venue.
JP Morgan.
Which has huge financial interests in China and US-China relations.
And JPM CEO Jamie Dimon is expected to attend the White House state dinner with Xi Jinping later this coming week.
Let's tokenize everything.
Tokenization is one of the best ways for countries to "raise money", or attract FDI (Foreign Direct Investment).
Which country/company won't want to sell their (tokenized) stocks to everyone in the world?
I support tokenization on all blockchains. While this creates the "fragmented liquidity" problem, it is the fastest way to grow the sector, with multiple players pushing.
Fragmentation can be somewhat addressed if there is high interchangeability amongst different issuers, which is important.
Amazing how 18 year old prostitution is one of the most highly compensated and least regulated careers in America, yet the building that taught me nuclear engineering was demolished because building new reactors is federally illegal.
The simplest possible fact is this: China has broken a number of theoretical economic taboos, shown that they are wrong, and economics will have--whether it likes it or not-- to adjust to that & revise what it currently holds and teaches.
You cannot treat the most successful economic growth in the history of the world as an exception to the generally valid rules of economics.
To add on this:
▪️ Chongqing-Chengdu model: “Jack of all trades” - be good at many but great in few; position as gateway to SEA
▪️ Inner Mongolia model: the Forest Gump “get lucky with natural endowments” model - from coal to solar to wind … to even having a cool climate appropriate for datacenters
▪️ Dongbei model: The “let’s show the world what China would have looked like if it held onto traditional Soviet-style Communism” model
▪️ Guizhou model: Infrastructuremaxxing - “terraform the mountains today, Mars tomorrow”
