@CubeDims@FunnyHappyStud1 I’ve heard of people getting dubbed in a language they speak because they don’t sound native or their accent doesn’t work for the role, but I have a hard time believing a dude with a name like Michael Davis couldn’t speak more convincing English than that voice actor.
@byaliceyin I’d support a city income tax under the constitutional condition it can only be used for advance payments on legacy pension debt and that any city with one is required to fully cover the actuarially determined contribution out of the regular budget.
@BSLivesMatter@bonxvivre We send them like $4B/year. Yeah we should tell them to pound sand but we’re only like 10% of their military budget and they’re only like .0.05% of our federal budget.
@IsolatedWatcher@Celt_mane It apparently wasn’t us who invented it. Both ‘month dayth’ and ‘the day of month’ were in use in the UK at the time of the revolution and we just settled on one and they settled on the other. Kinda like fall-autumn or aluminum-aluminium.
@Celt_mane It’s kinda grandfathered in, like a holiday called fourthofjuly. With more modern important days we call them things like September 11th, January 6th, etc.
Written forms should all be YYYY-MM-DD though, I’ll die on that hill.
@zippkode@franzsherbert The year is 2100, the United States consists of more than 200 states and stretches from the former Canada to the former Argentina. The old borders are meaningless. All are americanos now.
@FrankCalabrese@PatDoh12 I think that’s a broadly correct take. I doubt he’s many people’s first choice but a combination of being acceptable enough, a viable candidate, and not Johnson could win it for him.
@Bayes_Baller@SimonHoiberg The most Bay Area move is to not drink but do some drug the Russians used to use for defrosting windshields before discovering it’s a hallucinogen.
@shutu30732@StatisticUrban NAEP tests are done at grades 4, 8, and 12. There’s probably a reason 12 is generally not reported on (maybe demographic effects of people dropping out?) but I don’t know what it is.
@oldfart_007@einarvollset I’m just a simple country accountant but it seems a little odd to use golf scoring on an axis labeled “Literacy Score”, doesn’t it?
