20 yr. search for an effective #Alzheimers drug. Following drug developments for my family. Posts are my observations/opinions (not medical/investment advice).
Honoring my Father and Big Brother, who were taken by #Alzheimers, I composed/performed/recorded an instrumental called "Taking Flight" and added it to the following tribute video.

@AshleighSDay@David4304473651 Thanks for the heads-up. Yes, I've been very interested in the role of cellular senescence and inflammation for many years (and across many ailments). Thanks again.
Although not a shock at this point, today's $SAVA news still greatly saddens my family & me. We were all so enthusiastically hoping that simufilam would be the effective treatment for Alzheimer's that we have been searching for (the past 20 years). My/Our quest will continue.
@t6whiz Thank you for the heads-up about Anavex. I had been loosely keeping an eye on their drug developments (while focusing on Cassava the past 4+ years). However, I will now have more time to take deeper dives into the latest/other promising ALZ treatments, lifestyle changes, etc.

@VanceNordaker Thank you Vance. I hope you and yours are also able to continue to experience all love and joy that life and loved-ones can bring. I'm so thankful for being born into a large/loving family... There is strength-in-numbers during trying times. Thanks again and God bless you.
@David4304473651 Sorry to hear about your massive heart attack. Even with your healthy lifestyle. A very close friend had same at 49. He also worked-out with weights. However, he did smoke and drink. He has been doing well for 12+ years. Best wishes to you also.
@David4304473651 Yes... I do a similar ginger regimen and it seems like it helps with aches and pains. The 10,000+ daily step count has made the biggest difference with my blood pressure, A1C levels and cognition decline.
@David4304473651 Years ago, my parents and I had taken Curcumin (a more potent form of Turmeric) for a few years. It has some side effects. It is a blood thinner and can cause labor and/or gallbladder contractions. The latter put my mom in the hospital to have an enormous gallstone removed.
@David4304473651 Thanks for the heads-up David. Yes, I do ginger, other natural remedies, supplements and I initiated lifestyle changes. A few years ago I started a 10,000-15,000 steps/day regimen (that seems to have provided the biggest health/cognitive benefit). Thanks again.
@David4304473651 Thank you David. It is sad news for so many families living in Alzheimer's orbit/crosshairs. However, adversity and disappointment (when channeled properly) can steel resolve. ...At least in our family. So our search for an effective #ALZ treatment will soldier-on. Thx again.
New 3/20/25 $SAVA https://t.co/3JgZya5J2h update. Possible interesting update to "IPD Sharing"? As per AI: "IPD sharing refers to the practice of making individual participant data (IPD) from clinical trials available to researchers who were not part of the original study team."
@David4304473651 Glad its being pursued. Although video is no-longer publicly avail., I posted following on YMB back on 10/31/22: "If anyone has any doubts about Yale's Angelique Bordey's current confidence in PTI-125 (simufilam): Please check out her excellent one hour presentation on YouTube.."
Cassava updated ClinicalTrials website for $SAVA REFOCUS trial today (see Sub-Post for details). Below is my Est. Patient Completion Timeline. It appears ~620 patients may have completed REFOCUS. Chart assumes 75% patient retention into 12/30/24. [Corrections/Critiques Welcome]
@carlkestens Thanks for the link to your latest THE TYP article. Finally had chance to read it. Although I have a few differing opinions, I found it interesting, thought provoking and very well written. I will revisit IB as I haven't been following them (while focused on Cassava). Thx again.
Shout-Out and thank you to Joe Springer & Soycabronyo (sp?) for shining a light on my past due diligence for FDA/Dr.Temple's likely guidance in the design of simufilam trials. Below is a copy of my Sept'22 post w/link to Joe's show today (if interested)

Below is a minor correction to the originally posted Estimated Patient Completion Timeline chart. Please Note: the slight reduction in the projected/estimated patient dosing completions for the five grey (never to be completed months).
@CaliRomo@JonBowers7 I totally agree and hope that Cassava will be able to determine which (if any) subgroup(s) experience(s) statistically significant efficacy. ...As extra, caregiving-free, quality time with a loved-one is not only valuable... it is literally priceless.
FYI: Today, $SAVA updated https://t.co/3JgZya5J2h site for the 90 patient "Open Label Extension" that was offered to (I believe) the Phase 2b Study patients. The "Overall Status" for this "PTI-125-04 Study" has been changed to "Terminated".
@JonBowers7 I hear you JB. ...Approx. 5 yrs ago, after 14 yrs of fruitless searching/researching, I finally found SAVA's safe & potentially effective Alz drug for family & me. Past 4 yrs have been an emotional rollercoaster. Still hoping & praying (but not optimistic) for a positive outcome.
