<- They're not darts, they're Errows.
In the modern era where education has been highly democratized, all knowledge made essentially free to access, and intellect over labor celebrated, there's two scholars not invited to the Academy.
Trial and Error.
The marketplace highly values Experience but doesn't understand it. It's not chance the root word is shared with Experimentation.
Both come from the Latin word Experior, which means to gain Knowledge through repeated TRIALS.
Without Trial, and naturally the Errors, you lack the chance to learn what's true.
Put the book down.
Pick up some Errows.
If you're afraid to follow because no one else has, you're missing a chance to lead.
Rosa Parks followed in the footsteps of a teenager you've never heard of.
@CsillaMezei Even more powerful, have you considered asking it instead of saying it?
Lead someone's mind to say what you didn't.
It becomes their idea, and they're grateful you helped them by being interested.
Your limbic system is not a toy for strangers to play with.
What does that mean?
It means loss prevention is the strongest behavioral motivator and many people around you know this. Why?
Across many domains we can easily observe the loss rate is greater than the gain rate. Check the stock market, the pandemic infection curves, and many more. It's often 2 to 3 times greater.
Instinctually we all know this, and value loss prevention 2 to 3 greater than gains. (See Kahneman and Tversky CPT study.)
Therefore, when presented with an offer, it's 2 to 3 times easier to scare you into decisions than help you make wise ones by placing a loss into your awareness.
This is commonly understood and used in advertising. Look for it.
There are many losses in life, purpose, self and others worth pointing out so offering ways to improve is very worthwhile and not all advertising is misleading.
The key is to figure out where you want to go first before evaluating any offer. (If you're unsure of the destination, how do you know if the ticket price is a good deal?)
Don't know where you want to go?
It's easier than you might think:
- Don't figure everything out alone
- Pay attention to your gut feeling
- Learn your intentions
- Train your brain to recognize and stop the fear response
- Use resources designed for you to discover you
My offer is: How can I help you?
"Act now before losing years of your life chasing someone else's purpose because you don't know yours." 🧐
What incentives are you reacting to?
Incentives are the strong and weak physical forces of human behavior.
We gravitate towards and are repelled from the multitude of incentives around us.
What incentives are you creating for you and others?
