I saw this video and remembered those 7 colleagues who were killed by the Taliban. These “spokespersons” took responsibility for killing them. Never apologized and never recognized the suffering of the victims and their families. Over a dozen other colleagues suffered severe injuries from the attack. Some of them are still struggling with their wounds.
I understand that we shouldn’t be prisoners of the past, but picnicking with predators of the victims is another level of hypocrisy.
Thousands been killed in Iran cities and yet if you think this uprise is a U.S. or any other country’s plot, it’s time to reckon how your soul is lost. The Iranian rise up is nothing but a legitimate cause leading by the people who have been oppressed by Ayatollahs for decades.
The videos and news coming out of Iran is horrifying. The fall of supreme tyrant seems inevitable as the upraising is reaching its irreversible point. It is staggering to see the bravery and courage of Iranian men and women who are fighting for their freedom with their blood.
I wish to say happy Nawruz, but I’ll stay in solidarity with those girls who are deprived of their basic rights and whose dreams have been shattered and degraded as NO ONE in the open prison called Afghanistan. 2
It is the eve of #Nawruz and the #NewYear, and it has been four years since the Taliban militias effectively banned Afghanistani girls and women from entering schools and universities. No country in the world is exercising such barbaric attitudes towards its women and girls. 1
Thousands of Afghans sacrificed a great deal to support our service members during the NATO mission in Afghanistan. Yet, since taking office President Trump’s executive orders have stranded tens of thousands of these allies under Taliban oppression. I believe it is a core American value to support and protect our allies. These are people and families, who have completed lengthy security screenings and have communities, families, and sponsors waiting for them across our country. We have an obligation to support these Afghans who put themselves and their families at great risk for the future we promised them.
That’s why I led a letter with @RepMcClellan urging President Trump to rescind his Executive Orders and commit to protecting the tens of thousands of Afghans who bravely supported us.
Zelensky just dropped the mask: The U.S. is icing out Ukraine from NATO—exactly what Russia wanted all along.
After years of grandstanding about “defending democracy,” Washington is now leaving Ukraine twisting in the wind, handing Putin the geopolitical win he’s been gunning for.
Just hearing the Taliban is holding more American hostages than has been reported. If this is true, we will have to immediately place a VERY BIG bounty on their top leaders, maybe even bigger than the one we had on Bin Laden.
#ICC Prosecutor @KarimKhanQC announces applications for warrants of arrest in the situation in #Afghanistan for the Supreme Leader of the Taliban, Haibatullah Akhundzada, and the Chief Justice of the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan”, Abdul Hakim Haqqani.

This Taliban policy is not unprecedented. Under its first rule (1990s), TB mandated that windows be painted back
TB takes the state power to the private sphere but also reinforces the public/private divide
Political scientist Juan Cole called it "reprivatization of domesticity"
Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, is threatening to unseat elected officials if they do not follow his orders to shut down the government during the holidays.
Are we still a democracy or have we already moved to oligarchy and authoritarianism?
The Democrats lost this election because they ignored the justified anger of working class America and became the defenders of a rigged economy and political system.

It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.
While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.
And they’re right.
