The massive floods in Pibor destroyed drug stocks and increased
the burden of malaria and diarrhea. @WHO Mobile medical team with support from @CERF is replenishing the drug supplies and attending to the urgent
medical needs.
Just had a meeting with colleagues from WHO HQ that are developing indicators for monitoring humanitarian response. I made reference to suicide rates as one of the impact indicators for mental health services.
As part of the flood response, @WHO deployed an emergency mobile medical team to the Greater Unity Region. The team will provide lifesaving health care services & enhancing disease surveillance in Mayom & Mankien.
In addition, WHO delivered 243 cartons of emergency medical supplies to support the response. Thanks to the generous donors to @OCHASouthSudan@CBPFs & @CERF for enabling lifesaving health care services

Another day for the #Ebola history books! @WHO has prequalified Merck's Ebola vaccine, which became the first licensed Ebola vax ever with European authorization on Monday.
Prequalification will make it a lot easier for countries at-risk of Ebola outbreaks to license the vax.
