@UnrigLA I'm getting a 404 error for the "proposed budget" link but the more detailed "blue book" links work. I think those give her proposed budget and not just what the departments are asking for, right?
This is Hossam’s team, and we are sharing his final message :
“If you’re reading this, it means I have been killed—most likely targeted—by the Israeli occupation forces. When this all began, I was only 21 years old—a college student with dreams like anyone else. For past 18 months, I have dedicated every moment of my life to my people. I documented the horrors in northern Gaza minute by minute, determined to show the world the truth they tried to bury. I slept on pavements, in schools, in tents—anywhere I could. Each day was a battle for survival. I endured hunger for months, yet I never left my people’s side.
By God, I fulfilled my duty as a journalist. I risked everything to report the truth, and now, I am finally at rest—something I haven’t known in the past 18 months . I did all this because I believe in the Palestinian cause. I believe this land is ours, and it has been the highest honor of my life to die defending it and serving its people.
I ask you now: do not stop speaking about Gaza. Do not let the world look away. Keep fighting, keep telling our stories—until Palestine is free.”
— For the last time, Hossam Shabat, from northern Gaza.
Hi friends, this is a spreadsheet of Black families who have lost their homes in Altadena that need mutual aid and support, please boost: https://t.co/AK70drPSsm
Meanwhile in Little Tokyo, LA Sanitation has terrorized our unhoused community for so many weeks that no one remains.
And STILL, they showed up early this morning ready to sweep in case there was anyone left to harass during this unprecedented climate disaster.
Many Angelenos have received this alert… presumably accidentally.
Once again, the Mayor really needs to gather local reporters and fully answer their questions Today about this and other aspects of this historically tragic series of fires.
The city of LA is still sweeping unhoused people in the middle of this unprecedented crisis. Instead of bringing folks on the streets inside, the city is destroying what little they have & threatening them with arrest.
LA City Council had someone arrested at last Friday’s meeting and have held him in jail without bail for the past 5 days. What the fuck is going on @mhdcd8?
@AdamOfTheSmiths @UnrigLA@mhdcd8 I sat on the line for 3 1/2 hours today and wasn't able to provide call-in comment for either the special meeting or general comment
Gavin Newsom is ordering officials to sweep the poorest people out of sight, to destroy their belongings, and to sever their community bonds and ties to resources. He is NOT ordering that they be housed.
This is a profoundly cruel and inhumane decision.
@POTUS A majority of Americans do not approve of the ongoing genocide in Gaza but you continue to spend our tax dollars on bombs for Netanyahu and refuse to take a stand for human rights.
Shame on you, #GenocideJoe. You're on the wrong side of history.
At LA City Council today, a person making public poured some kind of liquid on herself in protest of the Councilmembers’ silence on Gaza. She led a “Ceasefire Now” chant before LAPD handcuffed her and escorted her out of chambers. @LAPublicPress
