To start with, none of this changes anything about the stream schedule or my other obligations to Pirate Software or our games. This is something I have wanted to do for a very long time and now have the opportunity to do so in-addition to my regular work. Basically I'm a mutant, work 19 hours a day, and love it. No ChatMD will stop me.

With all of that in mind I've accepted a position as the Director of Strategy for @offbrand_games. I'm going to help manage the relationship between developers and us to make sure there is mutual benefit for both sides. This means coming up with solutions for development or launch issues, pitching and testing localization pricing options, helping rework steam or other platform pages, reviewing and judging pitched games, or structuring contracts during negotiations.

It also means that offbrand games is sponsoring our next game jam. Any of the winning teams will be able to talk to and get feedback on your game from a publishing perspective. This is entirely no strings attached and should give you a ton of insight into the process and how everything works. Understand that many of you will not need a publisher but in the cases where you do I want you to be ready for it and be able to get the best deal possible.

I've seen far too many instances of publisher over-reach and I've wanted to do something about it for close to a decade. This is a chance to help push our industry in a better direction and I am super happy to do it. It doesn't mean every agreement will go perfectly but it does mean we're going to try. Thanks for supporting the things I've done for all this time. Wouldn't be able to do this without all of you.
