I do hope Omar earns your 1st choice vote. If not, we hope to earn your 2nd or 3rd choice. We haven’t seen this many high-caliber candidates challenging Frey before. It’s actually very exciting how possible it is to beat Frey this year. Let’s put in the work and get a new Mayor.
We need to keep attacking Frey for his failures, while uplifting communities in need. Frey and his team are the only ones who benefit from a binary or infighting between challengers. Don’t let them set the message, don't let them distract us.
I’m on Team Omar. I’m really proud of the work our team did to show up on caucus night — but we must remember that this was just one checkpoint in a long race to beat Frey. The real story of the night is that way more people want a new Mayor than want to keep our current one.
Has anyone w/o a home supported you? No. Fateh has the support of the unhoused community bc he's listening to everyone. He's not shutting down iftars or inviting homophobes to get millions out of the city. You're scared, admit it. Pop an edible. It'll help. Omar signed that, btw.
Jacob, your entire MO has been kicking homeless people out of Minneapolis and calling that a solution to homelessness. Bulldozing camps is not helping fewer people sleep outside. Throwing away their phones and IDs isn't helping them stay safe.
Maybe stay out of this one.
@Jacob_Frey As a homeless outreach worker in Minneapolis, I have seen more than 27 people sleeping outside this week alone
I'm very curious to talk about where you got that number from. A comprehensive count has not taken place since February
Hiding homelessness doesn't solve it. We can't celebrate this data as a win in partnership with our unhoused neighbors. Sadly this reflects an uptick in MPD aggression that makes vulnerable people more invisible. We need a humane response—not "out of sight, out of mind".
I am honored to be endorsed by Council Vice President @aishaforward10! I admire her leadership and the way she shows up for our communities every day. I look forward to working together to achieve a city that works for everyone!
I am proud to be endorsed by @umn_dems! As the chair of the Higher Education Committee I partner closely with students to pass transformational policy. I am excited to bring that leadership to City Hall and continue working together for a city that works for everyone!
I am incredibly humbled to be endorsed by the voting members of @TakeActionMN. It’s time to put the residents of Minneapolis at the center of our governance and build a city that works for everyone. That starts by electing a Mayor that works as hard as we do – I am that Mayor.
I am honored to be endorsed by former State Representative for 62B @RepHassan, and current State Representative for 62B @anquam62B. I look forward to working together towards a city that works for everyone! Minneapolis is ready for a mayor that works as hard as we do.
I am excited to announce my vision for a city that works for everyone! As Mayor, I will pass policy that is centered in transformational solutions for housing, community health, public safety, and working people. Find the full vision proposal here: https://t.co/wCBqBTG1nT
Just last October, the Police Department used City resources to hold a Catholic Mass. During Ramadan in 2023 and again in 2024, Chief Brian O’Hara used City resources to host an iftar in the community.
The lesson of the SD60 special is that Jacob is truly persona non grata and no one should align with him. It’s a losing strategy.
This city hates him. This is the year to elect a progressive Mayor.
Hi, I'm Aisha. I'm a renter from Whittier, I come to local government through the labor and immigrants rights movements, & I have the privilege of representing Ward 10 on the Minneapolis City Council. I’m excited to announce I’m running for re-election.🧵

Four years ago, I first ran for City Council because I saw the ways our communities were too often ignored by people in power.
Today, I’m proud to say I've stood by my promise to be a voice for the people and to organize alongside you.
