At a time like this, as the country is so divided and fear is everywhere, a good leader would try to bridge gaps and assuage fears. But Netanyahu is lying, trying to delegitimise more than half the country that is against the reform as it currently stands and dividng the people.

For weeks, Israel has been protesting against the judicial reform that has been decried by legal, economic and academic experts, and after every protest, Netanyahu makes a statement full of lies and gaslighting. Last night was a new low.

But Netanyahu's statement painted thousands of people as racist murderers, and that is a very dangerous thing to do. It is not only inaccurate, but it actively widens the divide.

Democracy is letting the people live as they believe is right, not the way the leadership dictates, but this coalition won't understand this fundamental principle. They will do their best to create an Ultra-Orthodox, right-wing country that will not be safe for Arabs.
