ILT20, SA20 and now Hundred have owners from India. Not that PSL doesn’t have its issues but how is it supposed to match the financial muscle of these leagues?
I don’t think The Hundred is the clear challenger yet, but this is exactly where the PSL should have been by now.
While other leagues have grown, we’ve stagnated.
Lack of vision. Lack of planning. And worst of all: an acceptance of mediocrity.
We had to move our window because players preferred ILT20, BPL, SA20 etc. PSL hasn’t been the first choice for years. Until PSL management acknowledges this reality, decline is inevitable.

I have a lot of respect for @OsmanSamiuddin and his opinions on cricket (see tweet below)
@falamb3@wasimakramlive Please discuss role of mentors in current PCB setup and what value it brings to Pak cricket.
#asktheroom
It says much about how broken/toxic Pak cricket ecosystem is that a number of PCB mentors (on 50 lakh PKR monthly) are also on air, lucrative media gigs, criticising the team (which they had an informal ok on, for selecting), system (which they work in)
@bhogleharsha Remember similar dismissal when Azhar Ali walked off given lbw when hotspot showed an edge on the bat. He later said in press conference he didn’t nick it.
