As we continue to follow up on the Tanzania post election violence, @VOCALAfrica_ has received the case of a Kenyan - Fredrick Lorent Obuya - who was arrested in Dar es Salaam on 31st October 2025.

29 years old Fredrick is a lawyer and runs a tour company. According to his friends, he was on his way to Zanzibar on a work related trip when he was arrested. His last known location was Oyster Bay Police Station.

Fredrick was my classmate in law school. Now, he’s a victim of simply being a Kenyan in Tanzania when the election chaos erupted. It’s very heartbreaking that our government isn’t doing anything to assist citizens like him in such circumstances.

GEN Zs. You are a specific group, defined by age set and nothing else. You are United by similar interests, desires, challenges, aspirations, motivations etc.

Don't allow yourselves to be grouped and asked to appoint leaders into some amorphous committee or commission. Unless you want to be finished or to finish yourselves.

Kwanza who will appoint those representatives? When? Where? How? Will you vote?

Let me tell you why your force has been addressed that fast, its because you have numbers to send anyone home. Don't allow sideshows please. And don't allow anyone to sit there and claim to represent you.

Use your forums to discuss and agree or disagree on the issues you have. You can even invite the entire cabinet to come there and listen ans take notes. You are not holding night meetings and you are not meeting behind closed door or in Naivasha, you are online.

Let them go and deal with those issues the best way they know how. Give them the practical solutions but let them go and discuss them in those committees and solve them.

Remain tribeless, faceless and fearless. Anything else and you are doomed.

Dr Austin Omondi AKA @Dr_AustinOmondi has been abducted while running a blood drive campaign at the Sikh Union. A car plate number KCU819H is reported to have been used. We ask the DCI & National Police Service to swing into action and find and release Dr Austin Omondi.

Austin had expressed anxiety yesterday evening following his participation in organizing medics to take care of injured people during the #RejectFinanceBill2024 demonstrations on Thursday. He reported that he received calls from unknown numbers threatening to kill him on Tuesday if he appears to provide medical services for demonstrators.

Dr Omondi is part of the team called Medics For Kenya that is coordinating management of injuries during #RejectFinanceBill2024 demonstrations that also includes young doctors from @KenyaMedics_KMA Young Doctors Network (YDN) led by @KristinMutonyi & @kipkoechkevin7 that has incorporated nurses, clinical officers and other medical cadres. They had their base at Jamia Mosque this Thursday and plan to have more bases on Tuesday at All Saints' Cathedral Nairobi. Dr Omondi had helped get twenty stand by ambulances in case of any eventuality.

KMA, @lawsocietykenya , @AmnestyKenya @DefendersKE and other non-governmental organizations had issued a joint statement yesterday outlining the dangers of limiting freedom of speech and unlawful detentions of Kenyans expressing themselves.

We urge Kenyans to come out in numbers first to Search for Dr Austin Omondi AKA JaPrado, and to condemn arbitrary arrests of Kenyans.
