Tangle is a major piece of our Shopify data and ML system.
It makes complex things easy and automatically avoids doing things more than once, saving an insane amount of waste. Open source today: https://t.co/4KvIoFuetG
Just shipped Tangle - the first open source experimentation platform with content-based caching and visual editor that's actually pleasant to use. The CPU time savings alone are ridiculous (seeing 1+ year saved at Shopify). We're at NeurIPS, booth #1713, if you want to see it.
@yishan IMHO: I have a feeling that the more hard/strict/unusual/contradictory instructions you give to a model the more unexpected the outcome.
Most LLMs were not really trained to do what they are used for. Most were not even really trained for chat, only fine tuned. Used beyond limits
@prdthailand Thailand's goverment is currently deporting the anti-war Bi-2 band musicians to Russia on the order of putin's junta. Please, stop this. Is Thailand a souvereign country or a putin's lapdog colony?
@zerohedge PayPal is a scam. I only used @PayPal to buy on eBay, but then they locked my account and asked me to provide SSN and photo IDs. Looks like PayPal gives your SSN to all kinds of crooks. They even state that in their Privacy Policy.
PayPal also stole money from some of my friends.
"the photographic industry was the refuge of every would-be painter, every painter too ill-endowed or too lazy to complete his studies, this universal infatuation bore not only the mark of a blindness, an imbecility, but had also the air of a vengeance" - Charles Baudelaire, 1859
Life is too short and precious to spend it on projects that are not open-source.
It feels wrong to spending my limited alive time pouring my creativity into things that can be erased from existence by a single stroke of bored ignorance.
@jramseyi What you've said could be rephrased in a more tolerant and inclusive way: "*My* creativity happens throughout all parts of the process of creating an art piece. I think that *I* do not want to use any computer tool during any part of *my* process.".
@jramseyi John, your art is really great. Acting defensive and judgemental does not suit you.
Every artist is different. Some use traditional media. Some use sophisticated computer tools like Photoshop. Some do 3D art.
I'm not sure we should tell other people which tools they should dislike.
@SOI128 Ironic.
Using an image artificially manufactured using a computer to fight for the copyright-holding corporations agaist humans who create art.
I'm happy that in this world most creative people are not like that.
Like it or not, the hate will never win.
@fchollet Being principled and authentic makes life anything but easy.
This is a classical problem.
And knowing what you stand for meant being aware how away far from your goal things are and how slowly things move (if they even move in the right direction).
@elonmusk I'm really sad to see that instead of pursuing your dream of getting to Mars, you've got yourself into this Twitter fiasco.
The pandemic seems to put a lot of strain on mental health.
BTW, could you change Twitter to be federated, open-source and free? Switch it to Mastodon lol.
@headinthebox@panopticoncntrl Irrational and profit-destroying behaviors do not surprise me anymore. I've seen a fair share of that.
I do not have a sound explanation why people do this, but it's not worth my time anymore.
When predicting behavior we should probably allocate 5+% to irrational actions.
A fun puzzle game to play for the future software engineer in your family (see attached image).

When I see cases like this, I often wonder what's the story behind it. How many people have decided that this is a good idea?

@msftsecurity The fact that just changing line endings from \n to \r\n makes the file not detected, raises questions about the safety of #WindowsDefender
I wonder how those broken detection rules look like...
@capitolhunters Why do you think that trolling the former RF president about the Russian war losses (and their inability to take Bakhmut despite trying hard) is a problem for national security?
Unlike US officials who shake hands with Putin, Elon has repeatedly humiliated RF officials over years
