The main innovation of the paper is a research blueprint for studying modes empirically, an effort that has lagged behind their rich theoretical background and clinical use. We argue that recent innovations in the analysis of intensive longitudinal data can help close this gap.

We just got news that our lab, together with @aaronjfisher's lab at UC Berkeley, will be getting some BSF funding to work on idiographic modeling and personalized prediction of single-session interventions. And here we were thinking it's going to be a quiet few years...
