Hill farming alongside a team of hard working dogs, a beautiful Highland Pony and a long suffering husband. Celebrating living life in north of Scotland.
A year since this area of peatland was restored. Loving how itβs revegetated. Weβve had lots of rain this year, unlike so many areas of the country, which has helped with regrowth and rewetting. Thanks to our funders and supporters. @PeatlandACTION@TheFlowCountry@NatureScot
πA heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors, finalists, winners and SLE members for making the 10th anniversary of the #HelpingitHappen Awards a special night to remember.
And thank you to all our guests for making this our biggest and best celebration yet!π#HiH2026
Ten years of Helping it Happen. What a night. β¨
Thank you to everyone who joined us for #HiH2026 and helped make it our biggest awards yet.
And thank you to @NatureScot, our headline sponsor, and all category sponsors for championing rural Scotland.
We had some kind guestβs staying with us who painted this watercolour of the croft at Fleuchary. Barbara, from the Cooβs Tail Gallery in Thurso, making great job of framing it. Itβs a special place to shop in town. ππ»β€οΈ
Good discussions and shared ideas from @NatureScot βs team working on 30 by 30. We looked at areas of hill, inbye and land running down to the coast . Different approaches needed throughout the year to hopefully deliver positive outcomes ππ π¦ π π± π³

Took the flower picture in May and the apple this week. This gnarly wee tree is growing at the side of the road, despite the traffic spray on wet days, salt and grit over winter. Maybe not the prettiest apple Iβve seen but itβs still there.πͺπ»π
Great to catch up with @MZebBenjamin@dodgsonwood and India, who made a quick trip to the north. Grand tour about on @SuzukiATVsUK looking at peatland restoration, sheep and cattle with collars to graze around SSSIβs. Top day finished off with food at The Store in BettyhillπΈ
