The Packers have invested into Watson's development and he has improved so much over his career. He cut down on drops last year and his underlying stats are eyepopping.
Out of 117 NFL WRs with 200+ routes last year, Watson ranked 10th in 1D/route, 4th in yards/route, and 3rd in explosives/route.
This is still my favorite Jordan Love throw throughout his career so far.
Stepped up in the pocket, rolled right and delivered the nastiest dot for a tuddy 😮💨.
Last season, Jordan Love ranked…
2nd in EPA/db
3rd in QBR overall
2nd in QBR on 3rd down
3rd in DVOA
Very clearly a top ten QB. Discussed with @BenjaminSolak on the pod.
My 5 favorite Aaron Rodgers performances in the Green and Gold:
• Week 16, 2016: Packers vs Vikings
• Week 1, 2018: Packers vs Bears
• 2016 Divisional: Packers @ Cowboys
• Super Bowl XLV: Packers vs Steelers
• 2010 Divisional: Packers @ Falcons
Which other games deserve a spot on this list?
The perception of Dan Campbell vs Matt LaFleur is fascinating to me because whatever criticisms can be leveled at LaFleur, Campbell also has (ex: heinous playoff collapses) only he’s had less sustained success.
Campbell gets graded on a curve for doing it with the Lions.
Brian Gutekunst would send a SWAT Team to NFL Films & take out the entire Mount Laurel facility if he found out LaFleur had let a film crew document his openers and then intercut it with the actual game footage.
Jordan Love has been a locked-in top 10 (top 8?) QB for a couple of seasons now. Kind of foolish at this point to think otherwise.
"Top shelf stuff" is that Love has one of the strongest arms in the league along with excellent size at the position, with pretty good athleticism, too. He also takes sacks at one of the lowest rates in the league, too.
Here's what the scouts told @BobMcGinn about Brandon Cisse, the newest #Packers cornerback.
"If he gets beat, he can catch up. He’s what you’re looking for. He’s got real quickness. He’s better than Terrell. He’s more physical. He’s meaner.” https://t.co/8hvuiX985y
Jordan Love was pressured on 40% of dropbacks last yr
despite that...
he STILL ranked #2 in EPA/dropback (+0.22)
QBs to record over +0.2 EPA/att despite 40% pressured dropbacks in a season the last 10 years:
Jordan Love
