Robert Jenrick is chasing a guy who stole a bottle of Coke worth about £2, but this is the same Robert Jenrick who helped his mate avoid paying £40 million in tax when he was Housing Secretary.
Anyone notice that @RobertJenrick has been silent on Grenfell?
Is that because from 2019 to 2021, he was responsible for dealing with the building-safety disaster it exposed?
His record isn’t good.
Three years after Grenfell, just 155 of 455 high-rise buildings with Grenfell-style cladding had been made safe. Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee said the Government had “badly missed” its target.
Jenrick had missed his target.
He announced funding with a fanfare, but everything after was slow, including leaving many in buildings below 18 metres facing loans rather than full protection.
In fact, victim families and survivors of Grenfell rejected his offer of a meeting in September 2020, and briefed the press that they were “cutting him off”. This was because of his inaction.
The Grenfell tragedy demanded urgency. Under Jenrick, residents were waiting.

So to be clear Richard. Under a Reform government you will order the security services to release the identity, motive and route into the UK of any terror suspect within 14 hours of a terror incident. Regardless of the status of the investigation.
@andywigmore@eurorealist Andy here with absolutely sweet FA for an argument. Seems to happen a lot when Reform are truly asked to think under scrutiny.
Having been through the vetting and appeared on #popmaster I can only assume Bill literally was taking the piss there. You have to answer at least 4 out of 5 questions on a pre-call just to be considered to go on! No way he was for real.
Man whose job is literally to make the laws fails to understand the basic concept of asylum seekers while siding with a criminal so stupid that he filmed the evidence of his own crime to make prosecution nice and easy. All in order to appease knuckle dragging morons. 👍
@Tilt2Life@gingerrtom He’s a good lad is Danny, he only USED to be a danger to women and what can kidnap and plying people with drink & drugs really tell us about what’s in someone’s heart anyway?
In October 2020, Robert Jenrick voted against a House of Lords amendment to the Agriculture Bill. The amendment aimed to legally prevent post-Brexit trade deals from importing lower-standard food, specifically targeting concerns over US chlorinated chicken and hormone-treated beef.
That’s not “always backing British farmers”.
Andy Burnham.
Drinks 12-15 cups of tea a day?
Ha!
What a wimp.
When we Conservatives were in power Nadine Dorries was drinking 12-15 bottles of vodka a day.
😊💪
Steve Reed on 25 March explaining that the £100k cap on donations "will therefore apply retrospectively, so it includes all donations from overseas electors received from today".
Yes, but how are people who never bother going to Parliament supposed to know that?
⚠️ This is getting rather worrying.
Journalists are supposed to scrutinise politicians, particularly when serious questions are being asked about political funding.
Being asked questions you don’t like doesn’t make a journalist an activist.
A party aspiring to govern Britain should welcome scrutiny, answer the questions and defend its position and not attack the journalist asking them.
🚨 THE £72 MILLION DEAD CAT
Look 👀 what has happened to the news cycle.
Days ago we were watching this extraordinary Channel 4 @Verbatim_Media undercover footage about Reform, political polling and alleged attempts to circumvent donation rules,
allegations now being investigated by the Metropolitan Police.
Then BANG 💥 &36m from one crypto billionaire.
💥 Another £36m from another.
Suddenly everyone is talking about the record-breaking £72m, whether Reform can keep it, donation caps and Labour changing the law.
The scandal has been replaced by the story of the money.
This Flush Fund is now Britain’s biggest political dead cat.
But don’t forget what was on the table before the cat landed:
the 👇 Channel 4 footage.
So.... £2,485 on glasses for a PM was "sleaze rotting our politics to the core" but £72,000,000 in a single day for Nigel Farage is celebrated as hitting "the jackpot" and a "war chest..."
Whatever is happening here is happening in plain sight. You decide!
Remarkable story in Telegraph revealing just how useless recent Tory governments were:
A secret Whitehall report found that more than £28bn in foreign aid and Covid-19 loans was handed to terrorists, hostile states and gangsters!
The misappropriation of taxpayer funds from 2015 to 2021, includes millions sent to the Islamic State and Russia.
Those responsible remain unpunished and the dossier was buried to spare official embarrassment.
Convicted in the US.
Pardoned by Trump.
Record donation to Reform.
Crypto-billionaires. Criminals. People who think they can buy and sell British politics.
That’s who Reform stand for.
That’s who they’ve always stood for.
Tonight's ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by Brielle Saracini and her husband, Sean McGuire, who both were just 10 years old when they lost their fathers on 9/11 and found each other through Camp Better Days.
Saracini’s father, Victor, was the captain of United Flight 175, which was directed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center, where McGuire’s father, Patrick, was working on the 84th floor.
Brielle’s connection to the Yankees began just days after the tragedy, when she wrote a letter to Derek Jeter detailing her family’s deeply personal loss, explaining that her dad would want her to realize her dream of meeting him.
Jeter invited Brielle and her family to a game, beginning a lasting friendship and connection with the Yankees organization 💙
