The South lost the war and a group of people got together and decided that they were going to adorn the country with monuments that revered those who fought on behalf of a cause that was lost, which they wanted to make seem noble. It was a propaganda campaign of epic proportions.

In honor of Pride Month, Drive By Pride in Kankakee was a success! Pride Month was established in the month of June to commemorate the Stonewall riots which occurred in 1969. Today, many pride events take place across the globe to celebrate love.

SHOWING SUPPORT: This young man is walking 46 miles, a mile for every year that George Floyd lived. Keenan started walking from Chicago and will end his route in Kankakee today. Many are showing their support for this peaceful journey, some even joining him along the way.

During the weekend, I ordered groceries and my husband picked them up today. Even though I still have to check on my community, I am making conscious decisions to create social distance......no shopping in grocery stores for me.
