Paul Moore (@Paul_R_Moore) had one job at HBOS. Watch for financial danger and speak up before it wrecked the bank. In 2004 he did that. He told the board they were lending too much, too fast, with too little care.

Their thanks was a P45.

From now on it gets darker. His replacement was Jo Dawson, the woman who had built the pushy sales culture at HBOS in the first place.

Her division sold the loans and insurance policies, including PPI, that later became one of Britain's biggest mis-selling scandals.

She was now the one in charge of watching for risk. Like putting the fox in charge of counting the chickens.

HBOS then paid KPMG (@kpmguk) to check if Moore had a point. KPMG said he did not. The Financial Services Authority, now the FCA (@TheFCA), agreed. Its deputy chairman at the time was James Crosby, the same boss who had just fired Moore...

Four years later HBOS collapsed. Lloyds (@LloydsBank / @LBGplc) was forced to take it over.

Taxpayers paid £20.5 billion to stop the whole thing going under completely.

Crosby eventually handed back his knighthood and lost part of his £25 million pension. He was never charged with anything. Neither was anyone else.

Jo Dawson lost her job too, when Lloyds cleaned house after the rescue. But her story did not end there.

She rebranded herself as an executive coach. Years later she picked up two board seats, one at Prudential and one running Citibank's UK arm.

Both jobs need FCA sign off. The regulator approved her anyway, seemingly untroubled that billions in mis-selling happened on her watch, first as the sales boss who pushed it, then as the risk boss who was meant to catch it. Moore told his story to Parliament in 2009. It shook the country for about a week. It also left him with addiction, depression and suicidal thoughts that lasted a lot longer than a week.

He spent years trying to get anyone in power to fix any of it.

He wrote a book about it called Crash Bank Wallop. He died in 2020, largely unheard.

The people who broke the bank kept their pensions and their board seats. The man who tried to stop them lost his career, his health and eventually his life.

Next time someone tells you whistleblowers are protected in this country, show them this one.

🚨What kind of a government does this to its own people?

Labour's new India trade deal just came into effect.

Labour have snuck in a last-minute amendment granting Indian professionals FIVE YEARS of exemption from National Insurance contributions.

That means that if an Indian company wants a job doing in Britain, they will get a tax break for choosing to send an Indian employee to do it, rather than hiring someone in our country.

That creates a massive incentive to increase immigration as the number of job openings sinks to the lowest level in years.

Britain's young people, in particular, have been slapped in the face yet again: youth unemployment here has now surpassed that of Greece and is getting close to Spain’s disastrous levels.

It’s yet another example of the political class putting everyone else ahead of British citizens.

In one breath, Labour denies the existence of two-tier Britain. In the next, they introduce yet more discrimination against the people they’re supposed to represent.

How much longer are we expected to tolerate a government which spits in the face of the British people?

Today I was asked if I am any good with phones by an elderly man as he was trying to open a picture message that his granddaughter had sent.

After putting Sienna in her pram, I took a look at his phone which was a really old Nokia. As he didn’t have a smart phone I told him that he wouldn’t be able to view it. He was gutted and went on to tell me that it was a photo of his granddaughter and her new baby who he hadn’t seen yet as they live in Buxton.

So, I forwarded the message to my phone and eventually managed to open the picture. He was so emotional seeing his great granddaughter for the first time and you could see his love for them both through his teary eyes.

The man insisted on giving me £20 to treat my daughter to a toy as a thank you for helping him which I insisted I didn’t want, but he was having none of it. So, I asked him to wait there and I went to boots and printed the photo for him and ended up buying a frame for it too.

When I returned with the framed photo, he was so happy, literally overwhelmed.

This just made my day to make someone so happy. ❤️

Muslims who go pray right in the middle of a Western beach, among scantily clad people, is no innocent exercise of religion. It is pure provocation and an act of cultural dominance.

In their own doctrine, a beach full of exposed bodies is zina – forbidden, sinful, and impure. Yet they deliberately choose precisely that spot to perform their prayers, with their behinds in the air facing Mecca, while forcing the entire surroundings to respect their ritual.

They consciously ignore the local norms, the nudity that they would strictly forbid or punish in their own countries, and then claim the public space as their religious territory.

Monday afternoon in a leafy Uxbridge suburb, 2025:

Wayne Broadhurst, 49, is stabbed to death while walking his dog.

Shortly beforehand, his killer, Dawood Safi, had attempted to murder his landlord and had stabbed a 14-year-old boy.

Safi is an Afghan national.

He smuggled himself into Britain in the back of a lorry in 2020.

Having lied about his age, he was granted asylum by the Tory government's Home Office in 2022.

Broadhurst bled to death after being stabbed 14 times across his neck, chest, back and sides.

Safi was able to plead guilty to mere manslaughter, citing diminished responsibility due to his "depressive psychosis". 

That's right, modern "justice" means those MOST likely to reoffend are treated MORE leniently.

Afghan nationals are almost NINE TIMES more likely to be arrested than Brits.

Yet Tories smuggled in tens of thousands of Afghans, including known sex offenders and literal members of the Taliban, and took out a super-injunction to hide it from the British people.

We cannot go on like this.

Reform will deport all those who illegally broke into our country, including criminals granted asylum by Labour and the Tories alike.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

I referred his case to the Attorney General after he was sentenced to only eleven years in prison.

He’ll be out in probably seven.

This guy named John has been coming into my work for years. I told him I was going to Vietnam next week with my girlfriend. He told me he was over there during the fall of Saigon and helped orphan babies get on evacuation planes and helicopters as a Marine. I told him I was one of those babies. He looked at me, his eyes started to well up and said he might have held me in his arms during the rescue mission (Operation Babylift).
We talked for a while and I thanked him dearly for his service and kindness. In the end, he told me he'll sleep better tonight knowing that a small innocent baby has now grown up with a better life in America. What an amazing man you are John. A Dutch woman, 38, was held captive for a week in a home in Zeist, where she was repeatedly raped and brutally tortured by a 52-year-old migrant identified as E. el B.

The suspect beat and kicked her, assaulted her with multiple objects, forced her under a cold shower, placed a plastic bag over her head, tied a rope around her neck, and cut her arms and legs with a knife.

He is also accused of attempting to kill her by throwing her from his car near the A12 motorway at Maarsbergen and then driving over her.

The victim was found with two collapsed lungs, a broken shoulder blade, a broken nose, a missing front tooth, multiple stab and cut wounds, deep marks around her neck, and was unable to walk. Police said they had never seen a living person in such a severe condition.

Investigators found the victim's DNA and blood in the suspect's home. Prosecutors say his phone contained images of the injured victim and that he had searched online for violent sex websites and for a drug to sedate someone for transport.

Repeat knife offender Asad Abbas jailed for life after stabbing a man in the neck outside a Shipley takeaway.

This is the SAME man who in 2004 broke into a 71-year-old priest’s home and stabbed him 14 times (attempted murder). He got 12 years then.

Now he’s eligible for release in just 5 years.

How was this dangerous thug walking the streets to attack again? Absolute failure of the justice system. Victims and the public deserve better.
