Here's my first Pikmin animation, It's called Left Behind
Was a fun little outlet for me, I hope you like it! ๐
HD Version is on youtube! I'll link it in the replies
@Greensilk5559 I understand, and can relate to that
I've only just started this project a few months ago, I'm completely new to gamedev, but I have the unique privilege of being able to work on my game as much as I want, whenever I want
All I'll say is watch me
@RHawku I've always loosely known what ICO is, but I've never looked into it until your reply
I ABSOLUTELY see it you are 100% correct LOL, I should play this
@reidhannaford Thank you! That's something I've been concerned about since the beginning, the current plan is just to hide repetitive textures on large objects with a lot of smaller objects lol
Unless you mean there being a difference in pixel sizes, in which case I may be loosy goosy with ๐ค
@RealTankTheta Thank you very much!
I'm brand new to gamedev, so I'm just mucking along, but the way I've been doing level design has been blocking out the entire thing with CSGboxes in Godot, exporting the entire scene, importing to blender, and then just building proper assets on top of that
@stellagelatoni You can't see much of the play area from this clip alone, and I am extraordinarily inspired by Fromsoftware and that will be plainly evident throughout the entirety of my game.
That being said, I'm not stealing designs or layouts, that'd be tremendously boring and stupid.
@SleepyEngi I didn't make it or anything unfortunately, I just so happened to be listening to this song from Pikmin when recording this haha https://t.co/KrGtadKfq6
@shocking_boring Ayyy thank you, glad you like the look of it already
I'm gonna be feeling out the gameplay for a good while, but the world design itself is built with the blood of Fromsoft coursing through its veins, and the core philosophy of the game has exploration as the main focus
@Abm67dih4 It's a really exciting thing, even just getting the bare minimum character controller set up and being able to walk around LOL
How I've avoided getting overwhelmed so far has just been about looking up tutorials for exactly what I need, and doing my best to truly understand it
@Abm67dih4 NEARLY as hard as I was led to believe! It took me around a month to reaaalllyy start understanding coding and how it worked in general, and I got REALLY mad more than a few times, but honestly?
Not too bad. and if my dumbass can learn it, I fully believe anyone can lol
@Abm67dih4 Honestly? TLDR, went my entire life believing it was IMPOSSIBLE to learn how to code for games
the other month I was like screw it man, opened godot, looked up tutorials for exactly what I needed, and managed to get things up and running within a couple of months.
It's not(1/2)
