Is the tide turning?
First, a resignation in the wake of the Jantar Mantar protests. Now, @PrashantKishor breaches the #BJP’s long-held Bankipur bastion with a remarkable victory.
One result does not make a revolution. But sometimes small cracks tell us that something underneath is shifting.
Is India asking for a new grammar of politics?
Are achhe din finally ahead? 🙂
For decades, India's border strategy was to avoid building infrastructure for fear of provoking China.
In 2013, Defence Minister A.K. Antony admitted:
India did not develop its border with China because it believed doing so would antagonise China. That was the policy India followed since Independence.
Today, the approach is the exact opposite.
Roads. Border villages. And now a record $4.7 billion investment to strengthen rail connectivity to India's frontier.
The border is no longer treated as a buffer. It is being built as the nation's frontline.
Literally blown away by the Hindi diction of Singer Srinivas from Tamil Nadu.
Nails “Na ghar hai na Thikaana”. Most natives would go with “Naa gar hai na tikaana”
He was born in Tirunelveli, and stays in Chennai. Yet such pitch perfection. Hats off!
Religions are not similar nor equal in any meaningful manner. A religion whose central tenet is to forcibly convert the entire world is very different from one that forbids proselytizing. A fundamentalist Jain is one who is very committed to not harming an ant. More Jains literally implies more peace. This is not true of all faiths. Stop promulgating the idea that all religions are similar in their teachings. Nothing could be further from the truth. Freedom of religion IMPLIES freedom from any religion that seeks to remove all of your freedoms if and when in power. Wake up.
Met an Indian startup last week that built a high end ICU ventilator in just 84 days. The founders are 30yo engineers with no prior medical device experience. Today, 260 of their ventilators are being used by hospitals across India. The company has a team of 50+ people, is profitable and is competing head-on with global brands like Philips. India’s healthcare problems are massive, but they are not unsolvable. The more healthcare startups I meet, the more optimistic I feel about the future of Indian healthcare.
Hundreds of determined engineers and doctors are working together to build a healthcare system that will look radically different a decade from now.
UGC protest: Ajeet Bharti, house arrest.
Ethanol protest: Tehseen Poonawalla, house arrest.
NEET protest: resignation.
The government really hates listening to the complaints of its own supporters, yet it immediately bows down to the demands of its core haters.
It almost seems to have a sense of Stockholm syndrome.
Six months before he became the BJP's PM candidate, in 2013 at the BJP National Council meet, Modi concluded a very passionate 48-minute speech with the following lines:
माना कि अंधेरा घना है,
पर दीया जलाना कहाँ मना है
We have seen this mindset play-out throughout his tenure, and we are again seeing him execute this on Instagram.
Great life advice too, those two lines.
Mahua, just four months ago, you sent 13 policemen from Krishnanagar to arrest & intimidate me for quoting a tweet about you. Instructed them to create a nuisance in my neighbourhood to sully my image.
You slapped 12 non-bailable FIRs on me, which were quashed by the High Court
In any scenario where terrorism is involved, you will find Pakistan somehow connected most often.
Here is a bio-terrorist who have active links with Pakistan.
Sonam Wangchuk brought national focus to the NEET. But he & his wife have been cancelled owing to a mere mention of Sanatana Dharma.
A humble reminder that irrespective of your noble intentions, IF your choice of philosophy, religion and politics DOESN'T SUIT the LEFT, you WILL be CANCELLED.
FIR against abusive language is wrong. It needs counselling by parents, family & society. Not Police case, trial & arrest. One is free to criticise or question the PM and Govt. Yet Abuse against the PM is wrong. Speaks about upbringing, desperation to get viral and be noticed.
Pakistan explaining how it does infowar and psyops on social media using India as a proxy. Great content that everyone in govt and armed forces must watch.
Calling India "secular" in the Constitution is like calling water wet.
Even before 1976, our Constitution was already secular in substance.
Article 14: Equality before law
Article 25 to 28: Freedom of religion
Article 29 and 30: Protection of minority rights
And no state religion
The word "Secular" is a Western import born of Europe's church-state conflicts. Does not capture India’s historical approach to religious pluralism which is better described by concepts like Sarva Dharma Sambhava or equal respect for all faiths.
Long before modern secularism, India spoke of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. It is inclusive by design. Has nurtured multiple worldviews and philosophical traditions while affirming the dignity of every path
Adding "secular" to the Preamble was, philosophically, a tautology. It is resorting to something lesser than what one has always been and stood for! It obscures rather than clarifies India’s own philosophical understanding of pluralism!!
Shall explain elaborately in an article!
🚨 French ex-pilot Pierre-Henri Chuet, who claimed the Indian Air Force lost Rafale jets during Operation Sindoor and praised Chinese fighter jets, has been detained for spying for China.
