There is a guy on TikTok who asks anyone 30 to 100 y.o their:
• Worst regrets
• Biggest lessons
• #1 Advice to the next gen
I scrolled for like 30 min and found some patterns...
My top 9:
Once a year when I become consumed by Instagram I decide enough is enough... only to find myself on X in a matter of hours... social media is an addiction.
Questions I’ve asked the most in my life:
“Does it come with chips?”
“Will they ever take away these temporary traffic lights?”
“Do you think I’ll need a jacket?”
“Tea?”
“Do you take sugar?”
“Why don’t they fix these potholes? (We pay them enough)”
“What shall we have for dinner?”
“Is it still raining?”
“Right… shall we?”
“Where did I put my keys/phone?”
“Was town busy?”
“Which bin is it tomorrow?”
“Sorry, are you in the queue?”
“What was I going to say?”
“What have I said wrong now?”
“Shall we head home soon?”
“Alright?”
Life is just constantly asking all of these on shuffle.
I found a guy who goes around the US asking 70 to 100-year-olds their:
• Biggest Regrets
• Biggest Lessons
• Advice to their younger self
Oddly enough, most of their answers are the same…
Here are my top 8:
Lesson in Leadership. The Argentina goalkeeper, Martinez saves 2 penalties, then an Argentina player, Martinez, scores the winning goal. All the players rush to congratulate Lautaro for winning the match. All but one, Messi who rushes to celebrate with the goalkeeper. #messi
I used to really feel the loss of friends or romantic partners because I loved them and things felt magical. Then I realized I see the best in EVERYBODY. They weren’t the magic, I was.
We are so lucky to still have jobs currently. I had a bloke decorating my house for the last three days. I got chatting to him and he is a Ryanair pilot on Furlough. He is decorating now to try and pay his mortgage, sad times but in fairness he did a great job on the landing.
