The river test is historically the river of Skues and Halford. It has shaped fly fishing history. Its pure, clean waters have teemed with fish for centuries. Now the test is full,of shredded toilet paper, sanitary towels, hormones, chemicals and worse.
Where once chub lurked under the cover of sunken tree branches and dace finned in lovely, oxygen rich flows, all you are likely to hook now is a passing turd. The fragrant smell of watermeadow has been replaced by the pungent, acrid whiff of human waste.
How on earth @southernwater have the neck to double down like this is beyond me. In any other world they would probably be in jail already.
