My Portfolio 💼 is at ATH!
32.54% YTD
51.69% 1 year
121.28% in 2 years and 9 months since I opened my brokerage account.
If you look carefully at my YTD image you’ll see I was -19% at one point, so I had to seriously dig myself out of that hole and I’m thankful for the returns I managed to generate♥️
I had to research for very long many companies this year and buy them at very attractive valuations where the market punishes them for reasons that made no sense to me.
I did also a lot of swing trading with SaaS and Fintech companies as I saw semiconductor stocks were going up while the rest of the sectors were dumping hard. And I tried to take advantage of that.
The coolest thing about my performance this year was that I didn’t buy a single semiconductor company. I didn’t use leverage. Mostly I’ve been buying BigTech, Fintech and SaaS since these sectors are within my circle of competence.
Now I raised a bit of cash 6% of my total portfolio and will wait for a good opportunity in the future 🙏🏻
Never give up💪🏻
@HolySmokas I don't get why did you put $285k in $NKE which is such a bad business, yet on $PLTR you only put about $7k.
Kill $NKE, Date $PLTR marry $META
https://t.co/6eahcDPjTB on @Uber is coming to London. 🇬🇧
Building on our live partnership in Zagreb, we’re working to bring https://t.co/6eahcDPjTB’s Gen-7 Robotaxis to London.
Another step in https://t.co/6eahcDPjTB’s expanding global footprint as we scale autonomous mobility in Europe.
Testing is expected to start in the coming weeks, and we look forward to working with local officials, and our partners, as plans progress to begin trials for self-driving vehicles under the UK’s frontier plan.
Next stop London: Today we’re announcing an expansion of our partnership with @PonyAI_tech to bring their Gen-7 Robotaxis to London, the latest step in our partnership together across Europe. The UK is a leader in transportation innovation and our partnership is an important part of bringing safe, accessible AV technology to riders in the capital.
A few things:
"DoorDash typically builds whereas Uber usually buys" - The facts don't support this opinion. Uber didn't deploy any capital on M&A between 2022 to 2024, while organically establishing category leading positions across Mobility and Delivery globally. Meanwhile, nearly the entirety of Doordash's international business is built on fairly expensive acquisitions (Wolt, Deliveroo), and it has acquired substantials assets to expand into new verticals as well (Sevenrooms, Grub Campus etc). If you add up the deployments, you'll find that Uber has deployed a significantly smaller portion of its FCF on acquisitions than DD has, while delivering steady ~20% growth off a much larger base.
"Uber doesn’t seem to be buying cheaply either"
Every dollar of Gross Bookings is not created equal. We have successfully executed on a barbell strategy where products with high ticket size and margins allow us to invest behind affordable products that drive acquisition and frequency for the platform. Additionally, our Uber for Business offering has delivered sustained, strong traction. ezCater has a nearly 10X order size relative to a typical delivery order in the US, and is accretive to Delivery margins outright. We expect more upside post synergies (and potentially more as it's plugged into U4B distribution and goes global). Beyond the strategic merits, financially, it delivers a better return than buying back our own stock, which is a bar we continue to hold for any evaluation.
Build vs. buy.
Catering is an operationally complex business. When an office admin orders lunch for their hungry team, you better deliver! That means a distinct product experience, work on merchant ops, as well as a specialized effort with couriers and set up specialists. That doesn't mean it can't be built, but this acquisition leapfrogs Uber well ahead. Combined with our distribution and global footprint, an acquisition allows us to scale this category much faster.
Uber vs. Expedia.
I guess it needs to be said - Uber is not Expedia! Post COVID, Uber has compounded topline at over 20% and bottomline at over 70% (CAGR 2022-2025).
@SzAriel Ariel thank you so much for the support of the Israeli people! October 7th 2023 was a very dark day for us and I'm still shocked that we had to go through something like this. Never again.
Am Israel Chai 🇮🇱
@VanquishTrader I personally own $MELI which is also a beneficiary of the current events in Brazil so it’s nice to see LATAM companies are getting a good bounce
ATH today because of favorable politics in Brazil 🇧🇷 LOL
Market doesn’t care about fundamentals anymore, only headlines.
But whatever, I still bought $MELI $DLO and $SE when they were down so I can’t complain.
