Hey Martin
Hey Martin, can you hear my plea?
The Dream you gave still bleeds in me.
You spoke of love, you spoke of peace,
but hatred grows, it will not cease.
We had a president, a man of grace,
but still they spit right in his face.
Called him foreign, called him fake,
mocked his name for power’s sake.
Eight long years, he bore the scorn,
proof this nation’s still torn and worn.
The poor are many, the rich are few,
the struggle’s old, but it feels brand new.
Mothers pray while cupboards bare,
children cry, but who will care?
Poverty screams, but the sound is weak,
no one listens when the voiceless speak.
Elites grow fat, while we grow thin,
they hoard the gold, we starve in sin.
You said judge not by color or skin,
but by the soul that burns within.
Yet still the dark man pays the cost,
a dream deferred, a future lost.
I’m tired, Martin, I shout, I weep,
this mountain’s high, the climb is steep.
But I won’t stop, I won’t retreat,
’cause justice walks on broken feet.
The meek shall rise, the last shall win,
and love will burn through all this sin.
So hold my hand from heaven’s height,
I’ll march by day, I’ll pray by night.
Your dream still lives, though times are grim,
and I won’t let the fire grow dim.
@PFTCommenter with so much talent these days I think we could nail down a process of finding kids under the radar- it’s a win win and if done well a quite lucrative endeavor
@PFTCommenter do you think there’s a market in developing software that finds diamonds in the rough players throughout smaller schools ie fcs d2 and juccos and we charge a small finders fee to the bigger schools that get them on an NIL deal? Plus get a % of the players NIL deals?
It was inspiring to watch the Artemis II launch yesterday — @NASA’s first crewed mission around the moon since 1972. Our space program has always captured an essential part of what it means to reach beyond what we thought was possible, and I hope the four brave astronauts on this mission will inspire a new generation to follow in their footsteps.
