Great idea for transition - and @theESU have loads of free how to guides and prompts to make a debate session even easier to run: https://t.co/gnNHfuG9n7
I fully support this - business rates are a huge expense for early years settings who deliver vital education and childcare

I've written about this at length on linkedin - but a thorough and v interesting report which I welcome. Let's properly explore how to move forwards for #EarlyYears for the benefit of children, families and society at large ๐
๐ผ Early years education and childcare are vital for society.
๐ Westminster plans to inject billions into the English system, with taxpayers holding an 80% stake by 2025.
In our latest report, @abbyabhaya proposes a new social contract for childcare ๐

Thanks to a generous Levy donation from Bristol City Council via the @WTPN_ โs Share to Support Scheme, Raised In has been able to recruit 12 new Apprenticeships in Early Years Education since 2022.

This is why @raisedinUK was started - we need to protect our community spaces and assets, and we're proud to be doing our part by having nurseries, providing a sustainable rent, in these locations. Because we all need community!
A collective of Bristol organisations is calling for urgent action to safeguard the future of shared spaces, warning they currency face a "multitude of existential threats" https://t.co/oEsE9FdAzy
Another really interesting piece. Something which might help is better connections between nurseries and primaries, working with the early years providers as well as parents for a multifaceted approach to getting children school ready. Nurseries are v aware of these issues

Thank you @BristolWV for the debate - and I stand by what I said, early years education is just that - care and education @raisedinUK - lots of passion shown from both panel and audience & great to be part of the conversation
Excited to be at @BristolWV #IWD2024 celebration today, talking about the role of childcare and early years education in the caring economy - it should be a brilliant day!
Resharing this now I'm officially in post at @raisedinUK. Thrilled to have joined this excellent #SocialEnterprise committed to the best #EarlyYears education. I'll be on the soapbox advocating for the sector with gusto!
A useful read. The solution is complex and won't be solved by nurseries in schools alone (what about the holidays or the youngest children?), but encouraging to see the conversation happening #EarlyYears#EYFS

If primaries were hoping the challenges in the past few pupil intakes were a pandemic-related blip, the truth is much worse: EYFS is being squeezed and eroded - and things might get even worse.
Crucial investigation for all in the sector today on @tes
