BTS 팬싸인회에 겨우 32명이 모였던 날의 영상입니다.

'방탄소년단'이라는 이름 때문에 비웃음을 사기도 했고, 중소기획사의 '흙수저 아이돌'이라는 냉정한 시선 속에서 출발했습니다.

좁은 지하 연습실에서 멤버 7명이 방 하나를 나누어 쓰며, 2층 침대에 누워 밤새 가사를 쓰고 미래를 걱정하던 시절이었습니다.

​하지만 그들은 무대에 선 순간만큼은 최고였습니다. 겨우 32명이 찾아온 첫 팬싸인회에서도 멤버들은 한 사람 한 사람의 눈을 맞추고 이름을 외우며 진심을 다했습니다.

자신들을 찾아준 작은 온기를 결코 가볍게 여기지 않았던 것입니다.

세상이 편견의 잣대를 대고 주목하지 않을 때도, 억압과 편견을 막아내겠다는 팀명의 뜻처럼 오직 음악과 퍼포먼스로 자신들의 가치를 증명해 나갔습니다.

​고난 속에서 더욱 단단해진 7명의 유대감은 결실을 맺기 시작했습니다.

2016년 멜론 뮤직 어워드(MMA)에서 첫 대상을 수상하던 날, 무대 위에서 서로를 꼭 껴안고 오열하던 소년들의 모습은 수많은 사람들의 마음을 울렸습니다.

가장 낮은 지하 연습실에서 시작해 전 세계 스타디움을 보랏빛으로 물들이는 거대한 신화가 되기까지.

BTS의 성장이 수많은 이들에게 단순한 성공이 아닌 뜨거운 위로와 감동으로 다가오는 이유는, 그 모든 과정이 거짓 없는 진짜 이야기였기 때문입니다.
