Additional Chief Secretary Shri @vishaldevk, IAS, chaired the 17th Single Window Committee (SWC) meeting under OREP-2022, during which several projects were approved.

The 17th SWC deliberated on 15 renewable energy projects worth ₹10,068.53 crore, adding 1,675.5 MW of power generation capacity and 502 MWh of energy storage capacity across solar, wind, pumped storage, Agri-PV and BESS technologies.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from @GridcoOdisha, @OPTCL_Odisha, @ohpc_odisha, the Energy Department, and other key stakeholders.

#WATCH | Bhubaneswar | Mahesh Das, GRIDCO Chief Project Manager, said, "Odisha has a scarcity of land... for ground-mounted solar power plants. But we are blessed with so many water bodies... We are now intending to develop them as floating solar surfaces... Because of the proximity to water, you don't have to clean it... The second point is that efficiency is higher due to the panels' cooling effect... We have already floated a tender for the Rengali reservoir, around 1000 megawatts, for captive use. The next step will be 225 megawatt in Upper Indravati and 1.5 gigawatt in Hirakud... We have to have a reduction in carbon dioxide, which we cannot do unless we develop our ecosystem for green energy..."
