Here’s a big one: I officially earned my commercial pilot license today! A dream come true for sure, and It’s only been less than a year since I flew my first solo. It’s unreal to be one step closer to making flying my career! Now it’s time to work on becoming a flight instructor
And as of today, I’m officially an instrument rated pilot! Spent a lot of hours preparing for this moment, and it all feels surreal to have completed yet another step in my piloting journey. Onwards to commercial now!
@kpottermn Over the weekend, I flew through SLC and LAS. The lounge lines/waits were horrendous, and so I just opted to stop by an airport restaurant rather than enjoy the “access” I have. All the while, it feels like quality at lounges has gone down. It’s becoming pointless to have access.
@kpottermn I’ve found that the best part of status is int’l travel on alliance partners (SkyTeam elite, OneWorld status, etc). Getting access to business/first class lounges, preferred seating, and priority boarding/services has been game changing. Domestic status is sadly worthless now.
@CaptBob_Nomadic@qatarairways@emirates Thanks - I’m really looking forward to the lounge & flight. First time with Qatar airways altogether, and I’m in their 77W first class
@Flighty@appintheair I love Flighty and use it for all my flights, and glad to hear of an import feature coming for App in the Air users. One thing I would love to see though is an import option for other databases. I have years of flight data in MyFlightRadar, but I would love to import to flighty.
@SeanMoodyNews I’m a big fan of checking my seat on https://t.co/k0hMb3nVw7 when selecting a seat. The site lets you see the exact layout of seats and window placement, so you can find the seats with perfect window alignment, and avoid the ones with false promises.

@rwyrachel As someone in a kinda similar situation (250 ish hours currently) - it’s hard to get a job below 500 hours largely due to insurance requirements. The main exception however is becoming a flight instructor. Not the most glamours job, but it gets the hours to build to what’s next.
@FeederYyc@petchmo Boeing is buying Spirit as a whole, but Airbus is taking control and ownership of the sites where Spirit made components for Airbus aircraft.

I’m super happy to share I’ve achieved my lifelong dream of becoming a licensed pilot! I passed my checkride today, officially making me a private pilot! It’s been a fun and busy journey, and I can’t wait to continue to take to the skies moving forward!
