Village 06, located near Angerguten town in the East Wollega Zone, has been completely destroyed by members of the Oromia Special Forces and militia, according to video footage obtained from the scene by Mereb Media.

In addition to Village 06, Village 04 and an area known as Arkumbi were also entirely destroyed by the region’s security forces.

Village 06 is situated approximately 60 kilometers from Nekemte, the capital of East Wollega Zone, and about 7 kilometers from Angerguten town. The kebele was reportedly home to more than 1,500 Amhara residents, as confirmed by Mereb Media.

Since mid-February, members of the Oromia Special Forces and militia have reportedly carried out bombardments in the area using mortars and ZU-23 anti-aircraft guns. As a result, residents fled their homes and property in order to save their lives, escaping to Angerguten town and nearby areas.

After killing some residents and displacing the remaining population, the regional security forces allegedly went house to house, burning down homes throughout the village.

Displaced victims from Village 06, now sheltering in neighboring areas, told Mereb Media in a brief interview that Oromo Qerroo youth operated alongside the special forces and militia. These groups reportedly loaded stolen property onto vehicles, including large numbers of cattle and stored grain, and transported them to Nekemte.

The looting groups, using cover provided by the militia and special forces, reportedly took whatever property they could carry on multiple vehicles. Property they could not take was set on fire and destroyed.

Victims added that every residential house in the village was completely destroyed.

This is nothing new. For years, Ethiopian Orthodox Christians have been slaughtered, massacred, & burnt alive, with churches destroyed, especially in the Oromia region. The violence is carried out by the Oromo gov’t & OLA/OLF , fueled by deep-seated hatred.
