Illicit Financial Flows are money movements that are illegally earned, transferred, or hidden to avoid accountability.
They include funds lost through corruption, tax evasion, money laundering, and illegal trade practices.

When money leaves a country through Illicit Financial Flows, communities pay the price. Resources that could build roads, equip hospitals, improve schools, and create jobs are lost.

Many communities in Ghana still struggle with poor roads, inadequate hospitals, limited access to clean water, and overcrowded schools.
One major issue behind this challenge is IFFs, money lost through corruption, tax evasion, and other illegal financial activities.
Every stolen resource represents a missed opportunity, a classroom not built, a hospital not equipped, a road not constructed, and a community denied the progress it deserves.

Illicit financial outflows continue to drain critical resources needed for Ghana's development. According to available data, illicit financial outflows increased from $4.7 billion in 2013 to over $9 billion in 2021, before declining to approximately $6 billion in 2022.
Ghana loses an estimated GH¢9.3 - GH¢21.5 billion every year through illicit financial flows and corruption.
That money could be used to improve roads, schools, healthcare, clean water, and other essential services.

On this blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha, we extend our heartfelt wishes to all our cherished followers and the Muslim community across Ghana and beyond.
May this season of sacrifice, faith, and unity bring peace, blessings, prosperity, and renewed hope to every home.
Asset recovery is a critical tool in the fight against corruption and illicit financial flows. Any attempt to weaken, delay, or obstruct these processes undermines national development and denies citizens access to essential public services.
