@Dauphne@giuliag@frankroche @anitapado White-throated sparrow, heard before seen, was the #firstbirdofmyday followed by a big flock of black birds rattling overhead. Gorgeous sky this morning. Happy Friday, bird lovers! #arkansas
@frankroche @anitapado @giuliag@Dauphne Happy to tweet about the first tweeter of my day - a white-throated sparrow, heard but not seen. Still dark outside, but the early bird gets โฆ whatever he wants. #firstbirdofmyday#whatsyours
@Dauphne@giuliag@frankroche @anitapado Eerily still & quiet outside this morning. Have not seen a single bird, near or far. Very unusual. Have only heard one - a single white-throated sparrow - which will have to count as #firstbirdofmyday Glad to hear it again for the season.
@Dauphne@giuliag@frankroche @anitapado A Brown Thrasher - literally thrashing and tossing the mulch under our azaleas - was the #firstbirdofmyday - really pretty bird with speckled breast, long tail and curved beak.
Still traumatized by #firsrbirdofmyday which was the BLAM! of a hawk tussling with a Mourning Dove against our patio door which THANK GOD only left a scattering of feathers, not carnage, to witness over my coffee. Not ready for circle of life demo. ๐ซฃ
Enjoying coffee outside in glorious 58F/14C temps. A fluffed-up Tufted Titmouse, which I heard before I saw, was #firstbirdofmyday here in central Arkansas, USA. Looking forward to fall migration visitors soon. #whatsyours@Dauphne@frankroche
3 American Robins and one Northern Cardinal - all at once - were the #firstbirdofmyday after I put out breakfast of dried mealworms, sunflower hearts, peanuts & white millet. The muesli of bird breakfasts. #whatsyours@Dauphne@frankroche
Where there is one Blue Jay there are immediately four. Close family; plus the attraction of the all-you-can-eat buffet I keep stocked. #firstbirdofmyday#whatsyours@Dauphne@frankroche @ImErinAshley
I see him!! What a lovely place to perch above. / A โpartyโ or โbandโ of Blue Jays were the #firstbirdofmyday - thatโs what a group of them is called. I easily saw 4 and maybe more - big family of them around here. #whatsyours @ImErinAshley
Yay hummingbird, Dauphne! Downy Woodpecker was #firstbirdofmyday So HOT and dry here. All the birds have their beaks open to try to cool off since they donโt sweat. They are like dogs in that way. #whatsyours
My trees have ๐. The American Robins & Mourning Doves always watch me fill feeders from the branches. Today, a Robin was the #firstbirdofmyday But I heard a Red-Bellied Woodpecker & a White-Breasted Nuthatch nearby. #whatsyours@frankroche@Dauphne
Fledgling Red-bellied Woodpecker & 2 Mourning Doves were the #firstbirdofmyday on a beautiful morning after a glorious rainstorm last night. If I had thought it was actually going to come I would have also taken feeders down.
@WriterHannahBT Cardinal youngster, waiting with its house sparrow friends for me to put the bird feeders up. I had to take them down yesterday evening because a storm came through -- first rain here in more than a month!
#firstbirdofmyday@AshAhrens@giuliag@frankroche
Busy American Robin was the #firstbirdofmyday Itโs going to be another scorcher here in Arkansas today. We have 3 watering stations in our tiny yard to help the creatures survive. Rain would be so welcome. #whatsyours@frankroche@Dauphne
Brown Thrasher & Downy Woodpecker, both trying to get the last bits of a suet cake were the #firstbirdofmyday - Iโve put out 2 more watering areas; unrelenting, brutal heat wave here. #whatsyours@Dauphne@frankroche
A fledgling Blue Jay with his/her skinny neck and gangly teenage look was practicing one of their signature squawks, the โrusty springโ call. #firstbirdofmyday#whatsyours@Dauphne@frankroche
