@KPelfrey_SPT@DPTPathophy2018 Although the direct mechanism is not fully understood, it is known that ALS pts are hypermetabolic. They not only are dealing with fatigue and weakness from atrophied muscles and neurons but also from the increase in metabolic needs.

This article is looking at the fetus, and suggests that this treatment could be used during all pregnancies and will only impacted (benefit) a damaged brain! This is awesome work.

Also, I wonder how effective it is because it's been around since 1996 and there's not any push for its use. This may also be linked to the cost.
