In India’s Uttar Pradesh, authorities are demolishing five mosques in a wider crackdown on allegedly unauthorised religious structures, with dozens more already destroyed nationwide. The government says they were built without permission.
Al Jazeera’s Minelle Fernandez reports.
Dear Ravish Kumar,
I am writing to draw your attention to an issue that is causing growing concern among thousands of KVS, NVS, and EMRS recruitment candidates across the country.
In January 2026, the Tier-1 examinations for KVS and NVS were conducted on 10th and 11th January, and the results were declared on 28th February. Similarly, the EMRS recruitment examination was also conducted, and its Tier-1 result was declared on 31st January.
After declaring the KVS/NVS Tier-1 result on 28th February, the authorities conducted the Tier-2 examination within just 27 days, from 27th March to 31st March, giving candidates very little time for preparation. Likewise, the EMRS Tier-2 examination was conducted around 20th March.
Sir, almost three months have passed since then, yet CBSE has failed to provide any clarity regarding the declaration of the results. No official information has been released. We keep hearing through YouTube, Twitter, and other sources that the result preparation process is nearly complete, but despite such claims and repeated expectations, the result has still not been uploaded.
Whenever candidates call the helpline number, they are simply told to keep checking the website. As a result, students are checking the website multiple times a day and are becoming increasingly anxious and frustrated. Many candidates are under immense mental stress, panic, and uncertainty, as they are gradually losing patience.
What is even more concerning is that not a single official notice or circular has been issued regarding the expected timeline for the result. If CBSE were to release even a simple notice, it would provide some relief and clarity to thousands of candidates.
In the absence of official communication, rumours, fake notices, and misinformation spread rapidly on social media. Every time a false update about the result circulates, candidates become hopeful, only to be disappointed again when nothing happens. This repeated cycle is causing significant frustration and emotional distress.
Sir, I humbly request you to raise this issue and seek accountability from the concerned authorities. We have already run Twitter campaigns and sent numerous emails, but unfortunately, we have not received any response.
Therefore, I sincerely hope that you will help bring this matter to the attention of CBSE and encourage them to either declare the result at the earliest or issue an official notice or circular providing a clear update to the candidates.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
A Concerned Candidate

I take serious note of the ongoing protests by government job aspirants in Dharwad. I understand the anxiety, frustration, and uncertainty that many of our government job aspirants are experiencing. Behind every application is a dream, a family’s hope, years of hard work, and an aspiration to serve Karnataka. As Chief Minister, I want every student to know that your concerns are heard, and your future matters deeply to us.
When we assumed office, over 2.64 lakh government posts were vacant. This massive backlog did not arise overnight, it was the result of prolonged inaction under the previous BJP government, which failed to initiate timely recruitments or create a structured roadmap to fill vacancies. It is deeply unfortunate that BJP opposition leaders are choosing to mislead innocent students even now to serve their narrow political interests. Instead of encouraging aspirants to stay focused on their preparation and future, they are attempting to instigate unrest. The present situation is largely a consequence of the series of recruitment irregularities and corruption scandals between 2019 and 2023, which eroded trust in the system and resulted in a massive backlog of vacancies. Our government is committed to restoring credibility, transparency, and stability in the recruitment process.
At the same time, several recruitment processes had to be temporarily stalled due to legal challenges surrounding internal reservation, which was under consideration before the Hon’ble Courts. As a government committed to constitutional propriety and social justice, we chose to act responsibly within the framework of law rather than rush decisions that could jeopardize the careers of thousands of candidates.
Despite these structural and legal constraints, our government has moved with determination and integrity. In the last 2.5 years alone, more than 40,000 recruitments have been completed across departments. We are also conscious that many aspirants have waited for years due to delays beyond their control. Recognizing this hardship, the government has relaxed the age criteria by over 5 years for upcoming recruitments, ensuring that deserving candidates are not unfairly excluded because of systemic delays.
I want to assure that the process of filling the remaining vacancies is ongoing and will be further accelerated in a transparent, systematic, and time-bound manner. We are taking all necessary administrative and policy measures to recruit for more positions in the coming years and to strengthen recruitment institutions so that such backlogs do not recur.
This is not merely about filling posts; it is about rebuilding administrative capacity, restoring fairness in recruitment, and ensuring that every deserving candidate, across regions and communities, receives equal opportunity.
I appeal to all the aspirants to continue focusing on your education, skill-building, and preparation with confidence and patience. Karnataka’s youth are the architects of our future. Your perseverance inspires us. My government stands firmly with you, not just in words, but in action. We will ensure opportunities are expanded, dreams are protected, and public service remains a noble and attainable path for every deserving young mind.
