The Traditional Religion Practitioners across Nigeria came together during 2026 ISESE DAY to advocate for the recognition, protection, and inclusion of their indigenous belief and cultural heritage in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The proposal structured into five concepts as follow:

1.Constitutional Amendment: To push for amendment to Section 10 & 38 of the 1999 Constitution to explicitly recognize "Traditional Religion" alongside Christianity and Islam. No more "other" category.
2. National Holiday: Demand federal holiday: Ifa Day Jan 8.
3. Traditional Religion Commission: Create a government parastatal like NIREC but for ISESE. Mandate: to register temples, issue IDs to priests, mediate disputes, manage festival grants & allocations
4. Burial & Marriage Rights Act; Law that guarantees right to traditional burial and marriage, with clause that officially recognizes traditional Institution marriage Certificate.
5. Heritage Protection Law: Federal law to criminalize demolition of shrines, sacred groves, and artifacts.

2. Accredited Ifa & Cultural Academies: Federal funding for 6 zonal Ifa Universities. Courses: Herbal medicine, Aesthetics, Priesthood, Yoruba Language, Arts. Issue diplomas/degrees.
3. National Digital Archive: 3-year project to video, audio, and transcribe 1000 elders. Archive Ifa verses, medicinal plants, oral history. House it at UI and OAU.
4. Media & Nollywood Reform: Petition NBC + NFVCB to Ban films that depict ISESE as "ritual killing" without balance. Demand 30% of cultural grants go to ISESE-themed movies, music, and documentaries.
5. Language Protection: Make Yoruba + Indigenous language compulsory to SS3. No more "English only" in schools.

1. Anti-Hate Speech Law for Religion: Expand cybercrime and hate speech laws to include attacks on Traditional worshippers. 2 years jail or fine for calling ISESE "devil worship".
2. Equal Status in Public Institutions: Babalawo and Iyalorisa must be allowed to swear affidavits, stand as surety, and conduct oath-taking in court and government offices.
3. Security & Victim Support: Create a desk at NHRC + Police for reporting attacks on temples. Fast-track prosecution of mob actions. Compensation fund for victims.
4. Public Rebranding Campaign: 12-month campaign: `ISESE = รwร , รmแปฬ, รlร รกfรญร ` - Character, Knowledge, Peace. Use billboards, radio, and influencers. Partner with WHO to show traditional medicine value.
5. Workplace Policy: Federal Character Commission should include ISESE adherents in employment data. No more "State of Origin + Religion: Christian/Muslim only" forms.

3. Statutory Role & Funding for Council of Obas: Give Council of Obas constitutional role in land matters, security, and cultural policy. Annual budget from state IGR for palaces and festivals.
