What a fantastic morning delivering our Sports Day! With the cancellation of sports day on Monday due to the rain🌧️ We have ended the last day term in the sunshine! Students competed in all major events and 4 school records were broken! Huge well done to all our competitors👏🏼
A very successful 2 days for our Year 10 Sports Leaders at Wainwright Primary Academy! They represented the school impeccably, receiving so much praise from both staff and students at the school when delivering a day of Rounders and Multiskills sports sessions! Well done girls👏🏼
What an incredible experience at this year’s National School Theatre Awards… Our cast of Bonnie & Clyde were invited to London to perform a medley from the show! They performed at the Gillian Lynne - a West End Theatre!! They all did themselves and the department proud! 🎭🎶🎭🎶
Huge well done to both of our year 7 and 8 basketball teams who came 2nd place out of 30 schools last week👏🏼🥈They competed in the Jr NBA finals at the University of Nottingham Trent! Some excellent skills on display and fantastic team efforts from both teams, well done👏🏼🏀⛹️⛹️♀️
Last Thursday our year 10 student attended the County Schools Combined Events Athletics Competition in Derby.
He jumped 1.65m in the high jump which will be a new school record! Also having his first ever run at the Hurdles and first time throwing the javelin. Huge well done👏🏼🏅
Part 2… first time both girls teams have been involved in the town cup and so proud to share that our year 7/8 team got an excellent 3-0 win vs Manor. The teamwork and goals were fantastic! Huge well done to all the girls and a memorable experience at Mansfield Town Ground🏆👏🏼⚽️

Last Friday the U15 girls handball team competed in the Regional Finals and became Regional Champions🥳🏆 The girls beat their strongest opposition, West Bridgford 3-2 in the final! The girls got better throughout and showed what being apart of a team means! Well done girls👏🏼🤾♀️
On Wednesday the U13 girls handball team went to Sutton Bonnington for the Regional Finals. Winning all the group games with quality performances! It was a dominant performance in the final vs John Flamsteed, the girls came 2nd and qualified for the national tournament 👏🏼🥈🤾♀️
Year 7 County Cup finalists🥳 A huge well done to our year 7 team who secured a 4-1 win vs National in the county cup semi final this afternoon! Lovely game in the sunshine with amazing teamwork and goals scored👏🏼⚽️
Year 9/10 are Town Cup Finalists🥳 a huge well done to our girls who won 4-2 vs Garibaldi this afternoon! A close game between both teams. Proud of the girls togetherness to get the result👏🏼 bring on the final⚽️
A massive congratulations to the Year 7 Netball team! They played their first ever match at the West Notts Tournament at Quarrydale School. There were 10 teams in all, and after several wins, and a couple of unlucky draws, our team emerged victorious in 3rd place!🥉👏🏼
🥳Gymnastics success!🤸♂️ Huge congratulations from PE to our year 7 student Olivia, last weekend she was very successful competing in the East Midlands Championships! She competed in the 12+ category and overall came 1st place. Olivia has now been selected for the national team👏🏼

Last week the year 10 boys team travelled to Park Vale for the Nottinghamshire finals. In total Ashfield scored the most goals in the tournament and some of their attacking play was superb! Both boys and girls have qualified for the regionals in May🤾♀️🤾🏻♂️🥅
