The transpolar flight was his brainchild. Under his leadership, the IL-76 fleet also set an endurance record and circumnavigate the globe.

These three achievements, together with the squadron’s exceptional performance at Cope Thunder, earned a place in IAF history. the transpolar capability he pioneered added a new dimension to the IAF’s strategic reach.

For the first time, India has officially named the six brave soldiers who laid down their lives during Operation Sindoor. Nearly 14 months after the operation, their names have been inscribed in the Roll of Honour at the National War Memorial and will be permanently engraved on the Tyag Chakra — the Circle of Sacrifice.
