A friend and founder that I respect immensely announced that she was shutting down her startup this weekend. As a customer, it sucked because there truly isn't a competitor offering what they were but as a fellow founder, it was a gut punch that rippled through our community.

@katieaiello Also - I’m not sure what it’s like there anymore but tech is just so integral to the culture here that it’s SO much more easily accessible rather than it feeling like this unicorn thing other people get to be a part of. Education about the field in general helps so much

I don’t live in utica anymore - but I am in the tech world and completely agree having courses/boot camps is amazing - even better is when the tech companies support and partner with those courses! I’ve worked at a few that have and it’s been awesome for both sides!
