@mattadler81 That's a choice when they have plenty of local competition. I haven't had Pop Up Bagels yet, but @pearlsbagels will continue to be my go-to bagel spot given their quality and value!
@mattadler81 @Avatar_Jack A Baked Joint also does a great thick burger. Its a little pricey if you want fries as an add on, but the ingredient quality is top-notch, including a bun they make.
@Brendan_Duke The @DCCirculator is the only contiguous crosstown bus service. I'd be willing to pay more for a @wmata run bus with more frequent service if it'd get me from Mt Vernon Triangle to Farragut Square directly. Circulator is the only option & its packed during rush hour.
@spence_wagner Lots of German immigrants landed in TX as their point of entry. Tons of towns in the Hill Country between San Antonio & Austin were founded by German immigrants (Gruene, New Braunfels, etc). A German immigrant settled in TX, hyped it up in letters home and lots followed.
An incredible teacher, mentor and person. Thank you @burdett_loomis for sharing your love of Political Science and life with so many of us who were fortunate to be your student at @UnivOfKansas and beyond. May his memory be a blessing.
Longtime favorite political science professor Burdett Loomis has died, at age 76. He taught and started and ran the D.C. & Topeka intern program. He will be remembered, and missed.

When chef Naomi Gallego decided to open Mijita’s Tex-Mex, most of her research involved thinking about what she loved eating as a child growing up in San Antonio, Texas. A first look:

Our friend Pamela just told us that “According to Jewish tradition, a person who dies on Rosh Hashanah, which began tonight, is a tzaddik, a person of great righteousness.” We found that very comforting. So strange to be eating these apples and honey with this sadness.
A heartbreaking loss during a time when we need leaders like @repjohnlewis the most. Rest in power and may all of us continue his legacy of making good trouble.
BREAKING: John Lewis, who went from being the youngest leader of the 1963 March on Washington to a long-serving congressman from Georgia and icon of the civil rights movement, has died. He was 80 https://t.co/HHmysekyJ1
