.@HMPSwansea was the first prison to introduce the @samaritans Listener scheme back in 1991. Almost every prison in the UK now has listeners.

Listeners are prisoners who provide confidential emotional support to their peers who are struggling to cope🗣️

This week we wished a happy retirement and fair-well to our Senior Nurse, Karen.

Karen has dedicated 40 years to the @NHSuk and 20 of those has been at HMP Cardiff, ensuring men in prison get equitable health care.

You no longer need to book social visits depending on what wing your loved one/friend is located on.

Cohorting is no longer a requirement due to the removal of most covid restrictions in custody.

Visits run PM Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun and AM on Sat.
